Need Simple Wiring help

:shy:

Hey guys, I’m really new to this stuff. I just bought an integra 91 rs in dec. I bought it hooked up, i mean really hooked up (kit, wing, rimz, m3 mirrors, z3 fenders, intake, exhaust, headers, short shifter, custom interior and tvz). Now the thing is i don’t know how everything is wired and how to maintain it. But i’m learning a lil by lil.

Anyways, I just installed strobe lights on my car, now the thing is i wired both wires through the battery going to a switch in the car. I don’t know jack about wiring by the way. Now people are telling me that it’s not the right way because it can consume power from the battery and its dangerous. Thats true because sometimes when i turn em on, there’s sparks on the battery. Also, people suggested that i wire it through the fuse box. I mean their has to be a better and safe way.

Is this the right way I should wire it? What precaution should i take when wiring and if i do wire it through the fusebox, how do i do that?

get a 15amp fuse holder…have that connected to the + of the battery then run that + wire to your switch.

The strobe light and other stuff i have do have a fuse, that black box attached to the wires.

And what do i do with the negative wire?
what about the sparks that come out when i turn the strobes on?
and is there another way than the battery to get power from? possible fuse box

Thanks for the reply
Please help me out, Im really new to this.

Ok I’m going to try and help you out a bit here…hope this dosen’t confuse you.

This is what you want to do: From the battery, attach the wire with the fuse holder to the battery’s positive terminal…run that wire you just attached to the switch inside your car for your strobe lights. Then, run a wire from the switch to the power wire for the actual strobe lights(should be a red wire).

Now, you want to deal with the ground wire(black wire). You can attach this wire to the negative terminal on your battery, OR you can ground it to a part of the car chasis. Either one works fine.

So, in review, you get the power to your switch from the battery, so that your switchcan regulate power flow(on/off) from the battery to the strobe lights. Then, you give the strobes power from the switch, then ground the strobe’s. Any questions? Ask

Is it safe though?
