I have 90RS with B16A engine/tranny/ecu. It currently has an Intake, Tanabe HM exhaust ITR cams and B+M FPR. My question is I have recieved my tax returns today (it’s about time) and have a cool grand to spend on my ride but I don’t know what to do. I need some advice for modifications. I want best bang for the buck but I do not want nitrous just yet. I was think some internal mods but I dunno what would be appropriate. My car runs pretty strong but we want more power. So anyone who has completed some good horsepower achieving mods please advise. Any input is highly appreciated.
I would finish off the flow by getting a Type R Intake Manifold. Do you have Cam gears for those Cams? if not… you can get some.
What kind of suspension setup do you have? you should think about getting some good shocks (ie: Koni Yellows or Tokico Illuminas) which are well worth the money.
The next head mod i would do is get a new valvetrain (ITR dual valve springs and titanium retainers would be sufficient for those cams). HTH
Thanks for the info. I was considering the ITR IM but was waiting for you g2 owners input first. But what should I do for a Throttle body? Should I port match my stock one or go for a new one? And as far as my suspension setup all I have are H&R race springs. I was also thinking of ECU tweaking but I am not familiar to the pros and cons of this. Also was looking at Apex VAFC but again I don’t know the benefits of this. I checked out your site and the car looks sweet are you happy with that clutch? I need one soon and am looking for that with my credit card. And for cam gears, do they really bring out hidden HP? Thanks again for your advise I am in need.
Definitely do some more work on that suspension. Shocks and a good camber kit for the front and rear would be my next mod. My car handled like a sofa until I spent about $1400. You know how much I’ve spent on my engine? About $100. You may prefer to go fast in a straight line but let me ask you something. On the show COPS have you ever seen any of those retards outrun the cops on the freeway no matter how fast they went? NO!
