Here’s my dilemma. takes a deep breath My tranny had a hole grinded in it and it leaked all the fluid. I tried to move my car to it’s final fixing destination and it would not move, I figure blown tranny time to replace it. I bought a S1 tranny, 6 puck clutch and a pair of axles for $500 (damn good price if you ask me). Before I took everything he told me if something’s wrong to hit him up and he’ll give me my money back. BTW I know where he lives, his home number and his e-mail. I put in everything last night, I had a boner cause I got my car back (of course) drove it around a bit, everything works fine. This morning, I’m driving to work and at about say, 30 miles or so on the freeway 5th pops out and keeps popping out every block or so and it still does it. I did a search to see what it could be. I find it’s most likely the 5th gear synchros, ring or something like that. (Question 1) Is it that? Or the whole whole tranny is bad? Now, I know somebody that fixes transmissions, I don’t know his knowledge of Honda trannies, but he knows how to work with transmissions (it’s what he does). So here’s my options and I wanted to know what people thought I should do. I want to get this done as fast and as cheap as possible.
Should I use the 5th gear from my old tranny (if it’s good) and throw it in the new one?
Buy the necessary items to fix the 5th gear? Cost?
Get $350 back and cough up an extra bill for one from hondamotorsonline?
Throw in the LS 5th, but I don’t know if just any transmission person can do this? Cost?
Or if you guys have something else to add. Something anything, I hate being in this situation. Just remember to not add in labor, as I will take out the tranny myself and the guy will work on it for free. I would like to get this done this weekend so if a part has to be orderered and will take weeks to come in then I don’t want to go that route. All opinions/advice/ideas welcome. Sorry for the long post.

BTW: If you know exactly what’s wrong with it please tell me so I know the cost of simply fixing the problem.
