need some help

not sure if this is in the right place…i guess move it to where it needs to go.

hey guys…i’m going to look at a 91 teg with a b18c1 swap that is for sale. i used to own a 91, but its been a few years since i’ve had it. anyway, what do i need to look out for when i get there and start checking this thing out. tranny…mounts…??? not sure what else.

any and all advice is welcome. thanks!

  1. ok what I would do is take the car out for a spin, see how it rides, how the engine sounds,
  2. look for any oil leaks anywhere from cam plug seal/oil pan/valve cover/tranny fluid. check the oil dip stick to see if anything. if it has bubbles its has water leaking in it.
  3. make sure the vin number matches the engine bay/driverside upperdash and the driverside door area.
  4. check if windows work,
  5. check if ac/heater work
  6. turn the wheels left and right and check the cv boots and rack n pinion boots if they good or not, also check to see if axle clicks or not
  7. make sure all buttons work, cruise, defogger, windshield wiper, hazard lights, turn signals
  8. check the brakes, brake tail lights work, reverse light .
  9. since it has gs-r in it, check if v-tec kicks in. look to see how they wired it too, ghetto, legit safe. also what ecu they runnin.
  10. see what year motor it is, look under the valve cover, it should show you some numbers, I think the first number shows you what year it came from, check out what transmission he using too, cable or hydro w/hydro conversion

what about the intake manifold? would this be different, since it has the “upside-down” manifold?
