I started building this car in 2007 (Was 18 at the time) and I learned A LOT by doing most of it myself. However, even though it’s pretty solid, it’s not mint, especially the Quebec rust body that I restored and had painted later on. What I’m saying is I do not see the car as a quality build anymore. (Nothing like Jdeck23 and/or Teg Youngin’s level)
I drove the car…maybe 500km during those 8 years. I just can’t find the time to drive the car and with time law enforcement became a lot more strict here. So the possibilities of getting an inspection (which would obviously fail due to swap) are high. I just don’t find the time to enjoy the car anymore.
I’m working, at school and my GF lives 7hrs from my current place, so even if I would like to, it would be difficult given my current situation.
Moreover, I’m moving next year (after I graduate) to my GF area (let’s say Province) and I will be looking for a career, a house, traveling, etc. So I don’t see a lot of future for the car that as been sitting here, barely driven that will be 7hrs from me by next year.
I’ve put a lot of money in that thing and even with all that, I like the car and I’m still looking forward to the time where I will be able to drive it. But I’m torn between throwing the sponge on this idea or not.
Wise G2IC members, what would you do? I’m not done with tuning, that’s for sure, and I would probably keep some parts for a next DA project when time would be better.
Thanks all for your input. I’ve been thinking about that for a while now but I feel I’m going around, so I talk about it openly for the first time. (God, who would have though a pile of metal would be so difficult to think about parting XD)

You will get more parting it out them if you sale it as a whole. I would part it out. Yes it sucks but you can always build another keep some of the hard to get parts. A house an the other things you said are more import then the car. I to have an still do think about parting out my car. just my .02
It sorta depends on what your goals are. If your goal is to get as much money as possible out of it, then definitely part out, or possibly part out all the aftermarket parts you can and then sell as a complete running car in stock(ish) form. And you could also save any parts that you may want to keep for yourself down the road. For me there’s also another factor and that is that clean DA’s are starting to disappear and it makes me sad to see them go to the junk yard. If yours is rusted and looks a lot better in pics than it really is, then maybe do a full part out and scrap the shell, but if it’s still a decent chassis then my vote would be to sell the car to someone else who will build, restore, or maintain it.
By experience if it is not a question of money…just keep it you will probably regreat it if you don’t.
It seems like it is your first car that you but so much time in it no other car will be like this one…
So if you can keep it. It is my opinion.
Maybe you need something new on your car to bring back the love you had for her!!

I recently went threw these thoughts but heck I just dropped 1000 to rebuild my daily lol so with that said my daily sat for almost a year after thieves stole it and ruined my mint ass ride jackass’s but I paid the 600 to get it out pieced the interior and other things back to normal and rebuilt the engine at 154k original miles so with All that said keep it a year later you might look at it and make the time and dedication to it… There truly sweet rides I love mine but have sold some and regreted it only to buy more lol

It should work that way and I should be able to get enough money to fix the couple issues stated above. Hopefully the shell won’t be too bad after storage and I hope I will be able to get it back sooner that the estimated time!

Anyways, like I said in my FS thread, I would trade for parts similar to these (that doesn’t lose value over time) so I’d be in a better position if anything.

For the pancake reps ive seen them sell for higher now. I sold both of mine for 500 each plus shipping, but ive seen the last one sell for over 600.
Its basically what one is willing to pay.
