new brake pads making sounds

I just had new front brake pads, and they are making rubbing sounds when I go fast over a bump, or turn. have you guys had this happen to you? the guy said it will happen for a while and I’m to wait until the pads wear down more, and they will stop.

Thanks!

finally got my teg too, will post pic’s later. check sig.

Could be so but also could be that he didn’t use an anti squeal compound or your calipers are not retracting properly. There should be enough clearance for a new pad with the caliper fully withdrawn. I just finished all four of mine and there is a small gap between the pad and rotor, very small mind you but enough to prevent dragging.

what brand of pads and rotors?

For the rear I just used a third party pad, OEM equivalent and standard OEM equivalent rotors. For the front I used, Powerslot slotted stainless rotors and EBC “Green Stuff” pads. I haven’t tried it yet because I am doing a bunch of things and it is still on jack stands. Hope to give it a test drive nex weekend. It will be getting a four wheel alignment and a new paint job before it hits the streets permanently.

I have a set on the rear and they are better than stock. However, there are better pads out there that I would buy over the EBC’s next time. As for the front, I would strongly recommend Hawk over EBC.

I know many people that say stay away from EBC. I’ve never used their stuff. I use Axxis Ultimates, they are absolutely great. One thing, higher performance pads are going to make more sound than stock pads.

about a month ago i put on earls braided lines and powerslot nickel plated slotted rotors and metal master pads and of course new fluid they are perfect now and i think it was worth the upgrade
