New Brake pads

Just had brake pads installed and i can hear the brakepad rubbing on the rotor it seems to be when the car is rolling. I drove the car about 50 miles since then and its still making the rubbing noise. Is this normal and just the brake pads breaking in?

A friend of mine said yes its normal and another said his didnt make any sounds.

Thanks

Did you have the rotors turned or replaced when you replaced the pads ?

maybe they forgot the retaining clips?
does the sound go away when the brakes are applied?

I dont think they turned em when they replaced the pads. Is that a probleM?

if they didn’t change your rotors and they didn’t resurface them then it’s most likely rust on the rotor that is rubbing on the pads. OR it’s the anti rattle clips that were installed incorrectly and are rubbing on the rotor. these two are the most common problems after doing a brake job incorrectly.

what’s the correct way you ask? new pads = new rotors or at the least resurfaced.

Sounds like improper installation to me.

Check the orientation of each brake pad and all retaining clips.
