New Brakes!

They are right. Just buy some from your local parts place. I got a set of Bosch fronts for $100 lifetime warranty, I’ll never have to buy brakes again!

And don’t feel bad about the axles, especially if you got the reman stuff from your autoparts store. I just put a new driver side on and it was clicking within the first five days. Luckily they are lifetime warranty
you dont have to have big money to get good brakes… I did the Legend dual piston caliper and 11" rotor upgrade for the same that you spent on those ebay rotors and pads.

dual piston calipers at pick n pull ------$50
2007 mini cooper rotors(Centric brand)-$50
Centric ceramic brake pads------------$40

Sold my stock calipers for ------------$50

Thats a net cost of only $90

and here are some before and after pics… and just for reference those are 16" wheels

Before… this is the stock brakes

After…

i dont think he will have a clearing issue since the rims look like 17 or 18 inch rims but this also a great set up too just my two cents

is this setup bolt on or do you need to modify something??

100% bolt on… The only modification required is bending back the dust shield a tiny bit to fit the larger brackets… I forgot to mention to make sure to use the 23t brackets

you’re going to need a 1" master cylinder as well. The brackets have to be machined a little bit don’t they?

I have 11" rotors w/ ITR calipers on my DA - money well spent

I’m running a stock master cylinder with no problems, and no machining required when you use the mini cooper rotors… they fit perfect with the 23t caliper brackets…

Great info!

what are the 23t calipers? do you know if that setup works with 15" wheels? i see you have 16" and there’s a bit of space left.

my bad i meant the 23t caliper brackets… the dual piston calipers come with 28t brackets. You can get the 23t brackets off any single piston caliper legend or some accords and the type r integra’s… To the best of my knowledge the 28t brackets would work, but the 23t brackets work better…

As far as 15" wheels fitting over these, i’ve heard that some fit with no problems and others don’t. I’ve tried some 15" mugen’s and ssr’s and it looked like it would clear with some 5mm or 10mm wheel spacers.

so if i have the ITR calipers on my car already, I can get the legend calipers w/o brackets and it’ll work!?!? REALLY!?!?!??!?! If so, i’m gonna go try and find some dualies! If i’m not mistaken, they use the same pads, right?

the pads depends on the bracket so as far as i know you should only need the calipers right?

Yes, you are correct. The itr caliper brackets work perfect with the dual piston legend calipers, and they use the same pads. you can use the same rotors your running with the itr’s also… what rotors are you running?

I’m running blanks from www.fastbrakes.com

I had my brackets machined as per the old instructions from back in the day. My first set of rotors were 11" prelude rotors that I redrilled to 4x100. I later found out about fastbrakes and have been ordering rotors from them. Their rotors are SOOOO expensive though (after shipping). I had no idea I could use mini cooper rotors! I’ll definitely be ordering those from now on as long as they fit (right?).

I believe the spoon 4 pistons use the same pads as the ITR as well, right?
