new clutch chatter

I recently just purchased a stage to competition clutch. The clutch seems to chatter a little bit when i take over is this normal?

Also it seems to engage really fast. Any tips on taking off smoothly?

i think its normal i seen and heard peoples stage 2 clutches chatter a little bit.

how did you break it in? resurfaced flywheel? but it can be normal that a upgraded clutch will chatter.

Im not gonna lie. I got on it after about 80 miles then again at 200 then again at 300. But it grabbed hard every time. And yes i replaced my flywheel with an oem one. But it was chattering since i first put it in. It only doesnt chatter If i rev it up a little more then a usually do when i take off. But im afraid im burning the clutch if i do that.

shouldve broken it in the right way. tempting i know, but your clutch is still fine. the chatter is normal. since you got on it too early the clutch wont last long compared to people who break in their clutches the right way, if you know what im saying.

don’t expect your clutch to last very long. it might start slipping a lot earlier then it should since you didn’t follow a proper break in. what kind of clutch is it by the way???

i had a oem replacement clutch and it ran absolutely perfect, and it chattered. my friend has a third gen teg with stock clutch. chatters as well. so i believe its sorta normal. i wasn’t worried about it.

Its a competition stage 2.

My bro said it should be fine. He said he beat the crap out of his sachs clutch and it has 120k on it right now and still grabs hard. He said its all in the way you drive when your not getting on it.

I got the six puck stage 1 competition clutch and it doesnt chatter, but I love the clutch. I have had it for almost a year of beatin the piss out of it, and when I got the new motor put in a couple weeks back the clutch still look almost brand new.

On another note, does yours engage kind funny, like when you push in the clutch pressure builds up, then around half way the pedal just flies forward with no resistance? Mine does that, and my buddies that have evo’s and sti’s have a hell of a time tryin to get my car going or even out of a parkin spot when I first let them try the clutch out. I have never felt one that feels like this one does.

Yea it does do that. Any tips on a smooth take off?

my stock one does same thing, i think its cuz of the cable tranny.

My stock one didnt do it, the CC one that is in there now does. It just take some time to get use to.

not the chatter, im talking about engaging.

That is what I am talking about also. I already said my CC one didnt chatter just that the engagement is kinda funny. Try adjusting your clutch cable from under the hood and find a spot where you like it at, and then get use to it.

im getting my exedy oe replacement put in this weekend so we will se how it feels i heard it grabs better but it feels like stock.
