Finally got a new dist. for my car but when i put it on it started shaking. I called the local mechanic and he said its because its 180 degrees out. How do i fix that? My cell phone died before he could explain it to me. Help! thanks in advance

Honda distributor only goes in one way so you are not 180 out.Try checking your firing order 1-3-4-2.

Does the distributor shake by itself or the whole engine shake, too? If the engine shakes, maybe it isn’t the distributor’s fault. …If only the distributr shakes… ouch!

Actually, I’ve known someone who put in a distributor 180 degrees out… yea, yea… you’d THINK it’s idiot-proof, but it’s not… leave it to SOMEONE to prove the honda mechanics wrong… And it’s not pretty when you DO put it in 180 degrees out… either the distributor internals will crack or the shaft you slide the distributor onto will crack… or BOTH. and that’s BEFORE you start up the engine…
If you had to apply any amount of sweat-inducing force to put the distributor on, then it IS on 180 deg. out…
