Hey everyone, need some answers on the new exhaust I want to put in. I want to install new Megan Racing 4-2-1 headers into a Magnaflow Cat and finish off with HKS Hi-Power Exhaust. I’m running into an issue when looking at the Cat - Exhaust connection. The Cat has a triangle 3 bolt connection and the exhaust has only 2 bolt holes on its flange. Does anyone have experience with this Exhuast? Is it suppose to connect direct to the downpipe and bypass the Cat or do I need a converter of some sort? Any and all opinions are welcome. Thanks!
Most headers are going to have the 2-bolt flange… most all mid pipes are going to have a 3-bolt triangle flange. The cat should have a 2-bolt ball flange on the header side, and a 3-bolt flange on the other. That is the stock configuration. The 2-bolt ball flange allows you to use a donut gasket, which will allow a little bit of flex/movement under load when the motor is revving high.

This is the 2.5" style ball flange that should connect to the header… if you have a 2.25" header, get the 2.25" flange, etc.
That site also sells the donut gasket that you would use for the ball flange.
