New guy from Socal

Howdy, well I picked up my very first DA9 last monday. Well after trying to get it situated to get smogged I now believe the head gasket is bad. I drove it around got it nice and hot and when I stopped and let it idle, it started to spit coolant from the overflow reservoir and the car overheated something fierce.

It has 190xxx miles on it and is a clear title pretty clean car, and I picked it up for $1300 I am not not too pissed, Honda parts are stupid inexpensive compared to what I am used to spending so $360 for a head gasket repair I am handling myself isn’t bad (I am using the cometic gasket kit and ARP head studs, yes I am using the studs and no I am not going to boost it lol).

I also own a super fun 2000 Z28 camaro which has a bigger cam some head work, recently I switched it from a fully built auto setup to a manual 6 speed setup, easy swap to do in the garage.

I love the Integra as well and am looking forward to getting it back to a state of glory.

A couple pics of the toys. I was messing around trying to see how easy it was to thumb out my license plate, it’s a pain in the butt.

Other toy in case some of you are fans.

I’m completely new to the Honda/Acura scene, but working in a GM store all my life, I def am a fan of that Camaro.!! :burnout: What’ll she run?

Nice teg…excellent base to start with…nothing like 4 bangers that run 14s and get 30mpg…youll love it. Also nice Camaro…such a change going from the 6 speed long geared torquey Camaro to the teg right???

I am new as well, I was a fan of these in high school way back when lol. The Camaro ran a best of 7.42 at 92.5 mph in the 1/8 mile, I never got to take it to a 1/4 mile track but I have a couple of friends with high 11 second cars and we fooled around a bit and I pulled them by a car or so, so really it is a mid 11’s car that still has AC and all the creature comforts, I am shooting for a high 9 second streetable car with a nice turbo setup eventually. It is pretty much stock heads that have been milled .042" I am at 10.95:1 compression and I have a nice sized cam (228/228 .588/.588 112 LSA) and when I tracked it it had a fully built 4l60e auto and custom fti 3800 stall converter. I have race headers and full 3 in back exhaust no cats.

In december i decided to swap it to manual so i pulled the auto in favor of a t56, so now it has a stickk clutch/master cylinder setup which is fun in my 80 mile round trip commute every day lol. I am getting 20 mpg’s with it now, it is a fun car, I am used to it now though so it doesn’t feel as fast but I know it is, so I respect it and don’t abuse it lol.

Thanks, yeah she’s gonna be a great Daily Driver here in a couple weeks, I am thinking of putting a p8r head on it since I might know a couple people who have freshly rebuilt ones, I love how parts are so inexpensive for this car too.

It is different but hey it’s a commuter car, although my friends are evil all know how to appeal to my “lets have fun side” and I already looked at turboing this car, but the wife is keeping me focused haha.
