New guy, My 92 Integra turbo build thread

Hello there, im new to the g2ic website, but not new to the honda/acura tuner scene. Anyways, I picked up this car maybe 6 months ago from an older man for a decent price. All completely bone stock with a 2 tone flat black and red paint job… In 6 months i got a cheap single stage original red paint job to get rid of the horrible diy rattle can, installs Neuspeed full body coilovers (came off an ek), Picked up a set of 15in bronze wheels from my buddy, 2.5 in exhaust w/ a magnaflow muffler, double din dvd player, and typical maintenance.

Seeming how the car is completely bone stock with not one drop of oil leak, and runs like a dream as my daily driver, I have decided to turbocharge the stock motor thats in it. The car has 160k mi. Compression in all 4 cyl were around 190-200 psi. Stock ys1 ls tranny has ZERO grinds and is as smooth as ever.

I bought a used b series turbo kit that came w/ a cast log manifold, ebay 50 trim turbo, oil feed and return braided line w/ fittings, tial 38mm wastegate w/ 7psi spring, half a downpipe lol, greddy type rs bov, 4 piece aluminum intercooler piping w/ all couplers and t bolt clamps, nice front mount intercooler, dsm 450cc blacktop injectors, chipped p28 w/ a baseap chip from phearable.net, I ordered brand new glowshift oil psi and boost gauges, oil sandwich plate, walbro 255lph fuel pump, and an apexi turbo timer.

Items I still would like to have/need is an aem wideband, finish my d/p, spal slim fan ( I live in FL and last thing i would like is to overheat), and of course… TUNE!!!

This is my daily driver folks so any opinions or tips on this turbo kit would help greatly, this is my first attemp to turbocharge my car CORRECTLY. Power goal is 250whp-300whp. I have a spare motor for when this one blows… And trust me it will blow…

Now off to pics of my car and turbo kit enjoy

btw I picked up a wings west front lip tonight when i got off work for 50 bucks  will have pics soon!

clean car… G/L with the build. boost FTW

Nice DA… I like your rims…

Welcome. So glad that you have finally decided to join us (though your “join date” states May 11, 2008) and wish you best of luck on your project. Seeing that you are no stranger to the Honda/Acura world, we all here on G2IC should assume that you should know to do your research before attempting to boost your Teg and that it looks like you are prepared for the worst since you already have another motor on stand by. But just curious, why even put your turbo set up on if you already know the bottom ends fate? Your compression seems good, but I’d suggest a leak down and check the conditions of the bottom end before getting boost happy.
Just dont want to see you stranded on the road after a hard day of work or taking a chance for a long distance drive away from home without any funds to get your car towed. I just rather you not take the risk and do things a little slow til you are able to round up the funds for a healthy build and a RELIABLE TUNE. Just some food for thought. BTW, since you are in Florida, are you planning on making the trip to Atlanta, GA (since you are just below us) for the Import Alliance Spring meet? I made this account a long time ago just to browse around thats why the join date was in 2008 which i didnt even realize lol. Sorry i didnt really be specific about blowing this motor or how, but i plan on running just the stock wg spring at 7 psi hopefully trying to make ~200whp and just DD it until i get the other bottom end built w/ pistons and rods. THEN Ill be cranking up to boost on the motor thats in the car and have one fun weekend til she blows. Ive never had a motor blow on me before and it would also be pretty interesting to see how long and how much power the stock ls can handle til she snaps a rod. I really dont drive the car long distances at all, it takes me about 10 min in traffic and 10 min on the highway to get to work, and i mainly drive around the city or go to the beach. If i go long distances i usually take someones elses car that i live with or car pool. But im not gonna go to the meet sorry, Georgia is a pretty longways for me im near the trigger part of FL, if i lived in the panhandle i prolly would lol. Thanks for the kind words guys and help.
