Hi. I am new to the site. After many years of having multiple Civics and Accords, I finally bought a 1992 GS-R. I have wanted one for a while, and never see them for sale. I picked her up as a resto-mod project for my son and I. I paid $1,800 for it, not sure if that is too much, but it has a near mint interior, and a strong running original engine and transmission. Yes, it needs loads of body work, also it needs an alternator, brakes, exhaust, and a master cylinder. But it is mine and after wanting any G2 Integra, and finding a real GS-R, I just couldn’t say no. I would like to redo the body in original Milano red, and get some one piece headlights for it. Though I’d like to keep it mostly stock. The one thing I want to do though is an ABS delete. Not sure where to start besides a non ABS master.
And here is a shot of the engine bay and interior.
welcome good luck with your project i’m glad to see another db2 getting saved
I own a 92 Aztec green my self
It was going to be parted out for the engine and tranny, into an EF sedan. I couldn’t let that happen. It is rough, sure, but it deserves to live on. It has 118k miles on it.
nice good luck on your restoration…
db2 are always worthed …
i havent own one yet i better hurry up and find one before is too late
Whats going on guys i too am new to the forum and i myself saved a gsr from a crusher. Now the body is in good shape and its a virgin engine but its pushing 196k.
Well, I ordered up a Thermal exhaust, a Password:JDM rear wiper delete, and a set of Goodridge braided flex lines for all four calipers. As far as pads go, who has experience with Hawk or Stop Tec? I was looking at those and EBC. I have had EBC greens before and liked them. I will also go with EBC slotted rotors. I wanted to ask about my rear spoiler too. The mounting studs are missing on the sides completely. Where can I find new ones and the seals that go between the hatch and spoiler? I want to get it back on.
A lot of people rave about the centric 120 series blank rotors with some Hawk HP pads for the front and then those rotors with some OEM pads for the rear, for a good performance setup that is inexpensive.
Well I got the Hawk HP pads, and EBC slotted rotors. I got my B&M Ripper shifter with Blox 490 knob ready to install when the weather warms up too.
Very nice
You buy this from a guy named george? Pretty sure i bought some parts from the guy who owned this. Good luck with the project
Yes I did, he was kind of a dumb ass. Also was supposed to bring it up to me and bring me extra parts, but failed. I won’t deal with him again.
