My car smells like an old tennis shoe and my drivers side seat is getting a hole on the bolster where I get in and my carpet and front mats are stained.
THe first thing I want to know is how much does it cost to fix the leak ont he passanger floorboard? How much is a full new carpet and is it hard to install? How much are new front mats?
Also I would like my dead pedal back on but it seems to have broekn off of the floorboard. I think maybe I can take the car to metal shop and have them tak weld it back on.
I would just clean my current entior but how are you supposed to be able to use that foam stuff that bubbles and dries then you have to use a vacume cleaner on it that takes all day and Although I do have a smal vacume it doenst really clean any stains out.
How do I get the back seat out? THe left side cushion is loose and squeeks so I would like to try and fix that.
Wow those are all problems I had at one point as well.
First my car was leaking on the passenger side cause the door for the AC didnt close all the way and somehow water was leaking in. So I took out my windshield wiper and took off that plastic piece and put a piece of abs plastsic over the hole creating a cover. My fresh air setting on my ac sucks for pressure because of it but i ususally used recycled air anyway. Plus my car doesnt leak anymore.
Second, I rigged my dead pedal by taking 3 2 inch screws and just drilling the edges into the chassis of the car. Cheesy but cheap and it more secure than ever
Third, I dont know how much carpet costs but professional cleaning cost me about 20 bucks and it was well worth it. Restored the carpet to almost new status. Although it was never really dirty besides the smell from the mold.
Lastly, I still dont know how to take out the back seats.
removing mildew smell may involve cleaning the fins on the evaporator infront of your rad… Use almost no water pressure and some mild soap, bleach and vinegar… works for me.
even better… solve remove the cause in the first place… never shut down your car with the AC cycling (water will get trapped and mildew will form).
instead… just before parking (a block away maybe), turn it to vent and put the blower on high.
you will see what I mean… you will be pelleted with little drops of water (this is a good thing and will keep things fresh and squeaky clean).
about the back seat… all you need to do is remove the seat belt anchor bolt and then lift the seat cushion up and opff the front hooks…
If you want the backs out too, one bolts to the other and they are easily unbolted (10mm I think)… probably 13 or 15 for the anchor bolt though…
hth
no… I am not allergic to proper sentence structure, proper punctuation, nor usage of independent clauses… just lazy and needing more coffee…
