New JDM DA5 owner. :)

Hi All, thought i would introduce myself, i’m Jonny from the UK been into hondas for a while. I’m also into classic mini’s.

Been browsing on here for a little while.

Bought myself a import DA5 about a month ago. Its a real dog! I’ve done a bit of work to it so far. Cleaned up the engine bay, fixed the §§§§§, fitted some correct size plates and now the alternator has packed up so i’m on the hunt for one.

I’ll try get some more pictures up soon as i know you cross atlantic guys love JDM stuff.

I have a before shot of the bay, not an after though :frowning:

Ill get some more pictures up soon.

Here’s my other honda its an old ed. Hope no one minds me putting up a picture. Bought it stock.

I also owned an ek for a bit. Also bought that stock.

Cheeeeers.

Nice cars man.

Any plans for the Integra?

i like

I did have plans to strip the parts of the civic and swap them onto the DA but i don’t know if thats going to happen, i’m trying to sell the civic on to fund my other project car but people really are not interested without the mods on it.

My bro has some nice Track R’s the would look lovely under the DA i just need to find some nice coilovers to drop it on and some sill’s to weld on. UK road salt hasn’t been kind to it!!!

Welcome! I love your old honda’s, especially the ed, it’s beautiful! I had no idea that DA’s came with a single cam? I guess euro ones did?

Cheers dude!

Its not a euro one, they were never bought into the UK under honda. Only private Jap imports made it here, which this is.

Its got all this crazy import stuff on it. Even has the original double din jap radio in it.

Sounds like you got a good deal on that da. And you also have some very nice cars also especially that ek IMO. How does that da run with that dingle-berry (single stick) ? I’ve heard that they have them in some jdm models but I’ve never actually seen one in the engine bay until now in this thread. I’m still shaking my head on what I’ve just seen.

Yea its not bad. Has seen some serious neglect, the oil in it looks like crude oil!

I sold the ek on a while back and transfered the wheels/coilovers onto the ED, it was a nice car but just to modern for me!

It runs like a drunken slug, its seriously slow. When i bought it i was thinking it would not be that bad, how i was wrong. I wish it was a B :(.

The ef and the ek are sick !

I always find it shocking that the DA5s are single bombers lol.

A single Cam DA? WOWZA!!! didnt even know such a creature existed…she’s gotta be as quick as molasses flowing uphill on a cold November Tuesday tho…Nice whips tho my man!!!

i looooooooooooooove your ef!

No intention of threadjacking, just educating those who never knew that there were single cam DA’s out there. ANYWAYS, very nice pickup! If it follows in the footsteps of that beautiful ED, it’ll be a wonderfully built DA. Keep us updated!

good start. Definitely get a B18C in there, and you’ll be very happy.

Your other projects turned out nicely. I’m looking forward to seeing what the future holds for this car.

If you can get me some decent B series mounts then i would be quite happy to do a swapsies. As my original intention was to sort the bodywork out and swap in a DC2 motor.

Although i’m affraid to say i may be selling it :(, my dad’s just offered me an amazing deal on one of his cars.

No worries about the thread jack, i came on here to learn more about the DA5’s didn’t realise i would be the one doing the teaching haha.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes, Jonny.

nice da5 man should be fun for you…and some dc tegs came with single cams as well just throwing it out there

well if your serious i would like to see some pictures of the motor mounts to make sure that they are not ripped or dry rotted out…and if they are in perfectly good shape i would have no problem buying you some b series motor mounts…i have lots of da stuff so just let me know what you need and what you want to do and we can go from there…my email is thedb63@aol.com thank you for taking the time to actually consider this as some have tried to scam me by wanting me to send them money via western union…i would never send money western union lol…i use paypal…its the only way to pay online…

Boosted single cam plans?^^

maybe…or maybe itbs…whatever falls in place first
