well my motors screwed cant even move an inch friends says its either no.4 rod or rod bearing. should i replace or just get another motor? im more of a torque and n/a kinda guy but would like to elevate to bolt on turbo in future. what would you recommend? B20b (JDM) or b20z (USDM) or another b18a1.
motors in good condition are hard to come by here in hawaii and im on a really tight budget so im gettin it from the junkyard.
Advice would be greatly appreciated also if any price ranges are known for each choice that would help too.
i just swapped my b18a for a JDM B20b, start up is tomorrow on it. i cant wait. im so excited… one thing i do love bout the b20b tho is that it doesnt use the orginal pcv system. its on the top so it would be very simple to change. im talkin bout 15 secs max to change
well i just found a used b20z usdm high comp motor sittin at a junkyard my mechanic friends says it should still be good so im think im gonna go with that cuz i need my car runnin asap and i wanna start driving my car again i miss it. but ive researched and heard that all i need is just the block and everything should bolt on and plug in. but do u need to change harness or no?
move all your sensors and anything connected to your harness on to the b20. if the part is different just pull it off your old motor and put it on the new one. when you get rid of the minor differences, a b20 is just an LS with slightly larger cylinders.
