like the title says i just had a friend install a front crossmember and steering rack/subframe on my 91 DA with a b16 swap. i let it basically sit for 2 months while i saved money to finish the body work. so about a week ago i went to start it up. Fuel pump primes, motor turns but there is no spark. it has a nology full ignition kit on it. The pro fire coil and ignition module. it started fine before the recent work done so i cant figure it out. also there is a fuse that blows everytime i replace it if the ignition is on or not. ill update when i get home with what fuse it is.
bumpp
Sounds like you have a wire grounding out some were that keep poping the fuse
yeah like daru says it could be a ground …check for spark ?
Are there any grounds that connect to the steering rack/subframe
There shouldn’t be, no. Sounds like a wire may have been kinked while the work was being performed.
That definitely sounds likely. I also would not write off the fact that your problem could be 100% unrelated to the subframe or traction bar. Multiple times I’ve been working on projects, run into a problem I didn’t have before, assume the problem was due to the work I was doing only to troubleshoot over and over again to eventually find out that the problem was unrelated and simply a coincidence. If you have any friends with similar cars I’d seriously consider swapping out all your aftermarket ignition stuff for OEM stuff to see if the culprit may be in there somewhere. Aftermarket ignition is generally much less reliable than OEM, and often doesn’t even give a performance benefit anyway.
