New suspension need opinions

Basically just read the title i have a 1,000 bucks to spend. right now my car is sitting on 4 blown tokico blues and some maxspeed coilovers. i already have a camber kit. but no bars at all. i was thinking about doing the em auto x bar package but not sure. but i really cant decide if i should go with the basic set-up like some 5 ways and some ground controls
or do and full coilover
or convert to dc2 and try to enlarge my product range a little
any opinons will help let me know what you guys like as a set up thanks in advance

omni power damper. 650 for it. good stuff

would you still choose the omni power over tokico coilover kit for the dc2.
that and i havent read anything that the omni power allows you to adjust damper

when you convert to dc2 you need 92-95 civic or 94 up integra front forks. go to www.passwordjdm.com and look at the omnipower setups. that is my opinion. and you can still get your strut braces.

Personaly i wouldn’t buy suspension with fixed damping without a chance to feel it on a car first, but that is just my opinion.

I think most of the additional suspension options for the DC chassis are more expensive than you are looking to go. Dampers separately adjustable in both compression and rebound, remote reservoir, etc. not sure if there are many more budget options.

I need to redo my whole suspension as well and i was told by friends to go with a kyb agx strut and h&r sport or race (depening how low i wanna go). I have felt the H&R’s sport with a stock spring and it felt pretty good.

i already have everything to convery to dc suspension. and saving an extra 4 or 5 hundred to get something like jic, or apexi isnt that big of a deal i am a big fan of doing shit right. but my main question is is it worth it. and honestly it looks like the omni power is the way to go right now. That way i would have money left over to get my braces and maybe some cam gears in a few weeks.
So to all you Omni coilover owners tell me what you thinkn about your set up
also please let me know which one you have. the street or the drag

i have the tein basics and its pretty nice for daily driving…but really weak for track driven since it has really soft spring rates. It would have been nice if i had gotten Tein SS because its 16pt dampener adjustable…

the spring rates for the omni’s should be a bit stiffer. i would assume they are on the same class with the Tein. They just dont have the name yet.

IMO, the GC/Koni would be your best choice since its dampening adjustable and the springs arent too stiff…so its good for both worlds(track/daily driven)
They should run you around 850

HTH

i have heard that the damping on those set ups arent very helpfull. also what are the spring rates on your tiens. If i remember the omnis are much stiffer. but do you think the damping adjustment is that important. I am hearing mixed reviews some people dont like the damping and others do.Also if i understand right i have been hearing damping is cool and all but on the suspension kits in the $1000 range dont offer the damping adjustability that you need therfore it is not worth it. I am really leaning towards the omni power set-up right now, and before i did a tien set-up i would prolly do a tokico 5-way and ground control. Thier is just something in the back of my head screaming omni-power

ppl who tell you that the dampening adjustablility isnt helpful are ppl who dont know too much about suspension. the adjustability gives you the option to soften or stiffen your dampening and that, will all come in handy when you track your car or use it for daily drives. Its usually adjusted stiff for track and aggressive driving and soft for daily and street driven(comfortable and not bouncy ride)…

My Tiens spring rates are 503lbs in the front and around 253lbs for the rear…thats 9K front and 5K rear. Its pretty soft! The omnis offer street and sport. which are 10K-F 8K-R, and 12K-F 10K-R. sumin like that( you can check honda tech to make sure on the omnis though)…
its really what u have plan for your car and what you use your car for when choosing the right coilover set up.

If you are just using ur car for daily driven and “some” aggressive driving, i recommend the street omni’s (since its cheap budget wise). Tein basics are kool too but its really soft for aggressive driving(you get alot of body roll from the soft springs) ive never owned omni coilovers before but from reviews…there has been nuttin but good reviews…

If you plan to track your car often and race it alot, then i really recommend a coilover set up that will have the dampener adjustability. Many ppl on the boards here went with the GC/Koni and they liked it alot!

IMO, get the omnis ~650, ST rear sway ~150, Ebay front and rear upper strut bars, lower rear tie bar ~60… that should be under $1000. and it would ride pretty decent on corners for the price paid!

Where can i order some Koni Adj for a good price.
For People with the tokico illumina and ground control set up, how do you like it?
Does the adj damping really make a difference?

R koni adjustable damping…
and thanks for the link

yeah, they’re adjustable

I got mine from titanmotorsports.com, they had good service, I believe they were 525 shipped when i got them.

how many points of adjustability. how do you like them? what coilovers/springs are you running? thanks for your info. i just cant decide if i want to go koni/ground control or the omni sport set-up or the tien basics

That’s funny. I used to have that EXACT same set-up. And I blew out my front two shocks.
IMO, for roughly $1K, I would go with Koni Yellows, (specific for ground controls), and use groun control adj. coilovers. Then get an Eibach rear sway bar, keep the front sway bar stock, and get a rear strut tower bar, as well a lower tie bar/brace.

For the dollar to performance ratio, GC’s on Koni Yel’s, offers the most.
(Then if you’ve got more $$ left over, get some sticker/wider tires.)

I have the Omni street set-up and they are the shit!!! for under a G, I can vouch for these nice shocks. they are not adjustable but no need for all that. no slouching on my boosted G2 whenever I punch it now. it’s almost perfect for my set-up. stiff but not too stiff and can handle tight turns. I also have there rear LCA and sway bar. nice set-up under a G. I used to have the Tein SS that I paid $1195 for and these are alot better. I could have my Teins on full stiff and it would still be soft compared to these Omni’s.

just my Opinion because I’ve seen both. adjustable doesn’t mean better.

A shock dyno sheet would tell you why the Omni maybe better than the TEIN out of the box.

What you get with the TEIN setup that you don’t with the Omni is the ability to have them rebuilt and revavled which is not possible with the Omni’s dispite initial claims that it was possible. This is a much greater benefit IMHO if you’re looking to “do it right”
