aaaah I my 3rd gear in my y1 tranny is completely useless… which sucks to say the least… now I have to wait till the new one comes in from some prick in CO. well at least he honored his warrenty. SO my stock b18 tranny… (what is that a s1)? is going to be put on for the time being… how bad is my car going to bog?
I’m assuming that you have a B16A in your Teg. Well, in the long run the B18 tranny will hurt the engine because of the longer gearing. The B16 doesn’t have the proper torque to reliably run with the B18 tranny…I think(someone please confirm). But for temporary use, I think it’ll be fine.

Yup,
Sorry but I have to keep using the bike analogy. Imagine starting on high gear rather than low gear. The B16 feels that it’s starting on the higher gear whereas the B18 feels that it’s starting on low gear. The B18 has more displacement and torque that it has no complaints in starting on a B18 first gear rather than the B16 doing it…again I need someone to confirm.

its not like I am putting stock 86 mustang gears in here… the difference isn’t that enormous… I hope I figure I’ll slip the clutch a bit in first and then once its rolling I see only slight acceleration difference… plus my car makes 178 at the wheels… oh yeah guys dyno chart will be up later today (dan and others) Oz do you know what the difference in gear ratios are?? I have no clue… I really hope this won’t screw up a month of time and a crap load of $$$ that I put into it… I really can’t wait 3 weeks for my new tranny and I don’t have the cash to just go get a new one locally… I gotta have the guy who sold me the swap send me another one… since I have a 3 month warrenty and I didn’t even drive it over 2miles before the gear blew…
