Alright so tonight I picked up some Kosei K1’s for a killer deal. They were advertised as 16x7.5 and I was a little iffy about it, but I need some 16’s for my DA because I’m tired of scraping everywhere I go. So my first question is, what is a 16x7.5 with a +43 offset gonna look like on a DA. Second question is what tire size should I run with these? I’m lowered on Skunk2 Shocks and Tein S Tech springs. It’s a little lower than I like, but it’s how I bought it. Anywho those are my questions so any input would be awesome.
205/45 r16 seem to be the best size for our cars
i have had everything from 205 40 - 205 45 -205 50 and 205 55 all at different times and different ride heights and i think the 205 45 was the best overall for traction and ride quality
and they are also very close to the stock diameter to keep the speedo accurate… i have checked this with my gps and its dead on within 1mph when cruising at highway speed
if you can fit the 205 50 they will offer a little smoother ride without giving up too much handling
hope i was able to give a little insight on the situation
That’s what I figured I’d go with. My only problem is I’m afraid of rubbing, especially with a wide wheel like this. I’d probably do a 45 series just to be safe. If I run a 205/45 it’s not gonna have that stretched look is it? I hate that look.
Want to sell the meshies?lol I kosies look great on a da.post some pics when you install them.
Haha I don’t know. I really like those meshies. They’ll stay on through this winter til I save up for powder coat and tires for the K1’s. Spring time I’ll put the k1’s on and then I’ll decide if I’m gonna keep the meshies or not. We’ll just have to wait and see.
I run 225/45r16. Stepped up from a 215/45r16.
How low are you though?
Alright so I’ve been looking at tire options and I’ve got it narrowed down to 3. Not looking to go crazy on prices. I do intend on Auto-X on the wheels next season, but I’m not worried about classes and what not as I’m trying to gain experience in the seat. Anywho, here are my 3 choices in my price range.
Kumho Ecsta AST and I’d consider the ASX if I can get some positive feedback on them

General Exclaim UHP

Falken Ziex 912

I ran the Falken’s on my DA with blades and I loved them. Did some spirited driving up at Deal’s Gap on them and the gripped pretty well for an all season tire. With these being primarily summer wheels though I’m not worried about ice or slick conditions other than rain so I’d be more open to a summer tire. Any inpit on any of those or any other suggestions in the same price range would be appreciated.
Same wheel, went with 215/45/16.
Most would say I am slammed. Tucking almost an inch of the rear tire and just a smidge of the front. Takes turns like no other. Still yet to find the breaking point of the tires. I need to get it on the track and find out. On the roads I am at the point of being that the traction will lbe one there one second the next it just break loose. With the old Rt615’s in a 215/45 I knew where it would start to produce understeer and slide a bit but was completely controlable and tame, now with the R1R’s in a 225/45 I am not to keen in pushing these any farther on the streets because I have already gone far past what the 615’s were capable of.
