next step in modding

the next thing I’m doing to my car is rebuilding the tranny. its not smooth anymore and it grinds second, third, and fifth at anything above 3500. real nasty. i’m gonna rebuild it with brand new syncros and use ITR gears. They should fit in without any modifications, right? also, how much do you think it will cost if i’m not doing the work?

thanks in advance. eventually i’ll get a ITR flywheel.

I think the case (92-93) needs to be modified slightly to fit the ITR gears.

A local member has ITR hardware in his tranny and reports good results.

well, to get itr gears you’ll basically need to buy all the internals of the itr tranny. you can’t just buy the gears because some of the gears are fixed to the main and countershafts…meaning you have to buy itr main and counter shafts. you’ll also need an itr differential i think.

this is going to be a VERY costly swap. not sure of the price exactly, but figure a typical gearset to replace synchros is about $300 per gear…add that to the shafts, differential, all the labor, bearings…

well…i guess the step will have to wait. but i need to rebuild my tranny.
