hello G2IC,
i hadn’t planned on making a build thread for this, but after being in the garage last night and my wife coming out and her saying, “i hope you know where all that stuff goes” as you will see in the pictures after this you will know why. i thought to my self. “why do i need to know where everything goes, thats what i have G2IC for”
so anyway here is the low down so far,
i have a 1990 ls teg that i bought back in july of 08. it was bone stock and had around 120k mi on her. btw it was an auto. in Sep of 2008 i joined the Marines. i didnt get to drive her again untill the middle of 2009. when i returend from a deployment in Feb of 2010 i did an auto to manual swap. i hit a pot of gold when i bought my parts car. its a 93 rs it had a blown motor (threw a rod) but it had a header, full 3in stainless ex, koni yellows with skunk2 springs, full camber kit, and a few other things that i cant remember. after finishing the swap i entered my first autoX event, i was hooked. i then got a skunk 2 rear strut bar, meagan c pillar and rear lower tie bar, and a full adco sway bar kit. after about 3 more races with this and a stock motor i had to have more. soo i started this build.
here is the parts list that i have for the motor so far.
original b18a block
c1 head
darton 85mm mid sleeves
cp 12.5/1 pistons
eagle h beams
skunk 2 pro 3s
s 2 ti valve springs and retainers
ferrea +1mm valves
s 2 intake mani
s 2 70mm tb
blackworks lsv kit
hondata s300
and im sure a few more things that i cant think of right now.
the car had a salvage title when i got her, i didnt realize just how bad things really where. after getting the motor out and starting on the wire tuck i decided to replace the core support, and shave the bay.
the rear damage in the pics has been fixed, and i am currently in the proccess of fixing that mess on the drivers side
i will snap some better pics tonight, as i get farther into it.
as of right now im waiting on my buddy to get his trailor done so that i can get my parts car to my house. i have to rip it all apart and get the new rad support out, and get it all mocked up so that i can get it all welded in, grinded and painted.
the block is going to the machine shop next week to get the sleeves put in, and crank ballanced to 10k.
the head is at the shop now getting cleaned, port polish, and the valves done. should have it back in a few weeks as well.
im pretty excited about getting backinto this build, as the motor has been out of the car now for about 3 months, and ive had all the parts for it for about 2 months. i ended up moving into a new house with my wife just after the motor was takin out of the car. and i just havent had the time to get it all taken care of. i dint have the time to get pictures last nicht as i was out christmas shoping with the wife. i will try to get some more up tonight.
ohh and just to let everyone here know. Purple Power degreeser from Wal-Mart is the bomb at removing crap in your engine bay. i now live by that stuff.
im guessing your talking about the silver ones.
i have no idea to be honest with you. they were on my parts car when i got it.
i remember something being on the 1 center cap they had but i cant remember what it was.
i will try to find it tonight and let you know.
good luck on the build man i did the same thing last year on my DB1 once you get the parts car and everything cut up it will go together like a puzzle piece to piece i had so much fun doing it il post a link and you can check out how i did it in my build thread if yah want to

the black ones are traklite Launch. then now make them in bronze. and im mad i didnt wait to get those.
i actually sold the silver ones month or so ago to a buddy of mine. i tried to find the pics i took when i first got them with no luck.
ill talk to him today and get him over to the house and i will find out for you. as he still owes me money for them anyway. lol
here is another picture of them as well. and the (good side) of my car.
i get her cut up a little more tonight, gettingt all the mangled metel out of there and finding out were i need to cut the new one out to make sure i have enough extra to shape it and make it fit.
i finally found one of the center caps for the silver rims, they are American Eagle Alloy series 193. summit has them for 99 a pop.
ill be going on christmas leave on thursday. hopefully i will be able to get my parts car to my house before we leave. i know when i get back this thing is in the top of my priority list.
thanks everyone for all of your support.
