I parked my car yesterday in my driveway.now today it wont start. but the CEL doesn’t even come on either.and the s3 light stays on when i turn the key to the on position. it DOES crank however i do not have spark nor fuel.fuel pump does not come on (from what i can hear).replaced distributor MFR so far.ALL fuses good.could it be the ECU? how do i check that?
You will need a multimeter, if you do not have one go and buy one at Radio Shack, [The Source], $20 will get you one that will do the job.
You say you replaced the “MFR”, [PGM-FI Main Relay] so it is not the problem but have you checked the power and grounds?
If not check the below leads at the PGM-FI Main Relay plug.
Black- ground at all times.
Black/yellow- 12V+ fuse 24 - 15A [hot in run and start].
Yellow/black- 12V+ output, [hot in run and start].
Yellow/white- 12V+ fuse 38 - 10A, [hot at all times].
Blue/white- 12V+ fuse 18 - 7.5A, [hot in start only]
Green/black- ground output from ECU/ECM, [hot for a
few seconds when ign, turned to run].
Yellow/black- 12V+ output for fuel pump, [hot for a few
seconds when ign. turned to run, will stay
hot when engine running]
The PGM-FI Main Relay supplies power for the fuel pump, fuel injectors, one of the powers to the ECU/ECM and a few engine sensors.
I would also test for 12V+ on the black/yellow lead at the “Distributor Assembly”, [hot in run and start].
If there is no power on the black/yellow at the PGM-FI Main Relay or the “DA” test for 12V+ on the black/yellow on the ign. switch harness, ign, switch problems are common on G2s.
BTW hows the weather in Winterpeg, I hear -18 today.:shock 94:
haha yeah its friggin cold lol.and i’m trying to do this crap outside too.i’ll check those things tonight and get back to ya tommorow thanks
