Checked all the fuses, bench tested the starter, problem arose when I put a new battery in the car. All accesories work, but once I try to start the car theres a snapping noise and a spark at the positive terminal on the battery, and the entire car loses power until I unplug the battery and plug it back in.
If you guys could point me in the right direction or diagnose the problem for me I would be extremely grateful.
Sorted it out, negative cable was loose at engine, and the only ground was the shitty one from the valve cover to the body. Tightened the negative cable and it starts now. I’m going to add a couple more grounds tomorrow night. Battery was at 12.6 volts, changed it because my girlfriend needed a battery for her car and the da was being stored in my garage for winter.
And I guess it wasn’t sparking at the positive terminal, it was sparking where the negative cable met the engine. My stoned friend was the one who told me it was sparking at the positive term, I think he was tripping out or something. Got my dad to look in the bay while I cranked it and he confirmed it was sparking where the neg. cable connects.
