No criuse?

My cruise control was working on and off till Friday. Now nothing! The geen light comes on when I press the button on the dash but when I hit the cruise button on the steering wheel it won’t activate. Any ideas if it is possibly relays or modules. What should I check?

Thanks in advance. I will thank again later!

My Ride

check the switches up by the pedals. Somehow the pedals are attached to little switch things that allow the cruise to work. I’ve heard its a common problem.

try reading the part in your manual about the cruise control system, and how to trouble shoot the problem.

Thanks “91IntegGS”. I’ll check that out when I have some daylight. I went through the manual once but it seems confusing. I’ll go over it again.

Later.

can somebody tell me how to work the cruise controls?

Cruise Control Issue

I was having the same problem with my cruise control after I adjusted the gas pedal.
Now it turns out that if I have my headlights or parking lights on the damn cruise won’t work. If I have all the lights off it works fine, but the second I turn the lights on it won’t engage or better yet if the cruise is on it will switch it off.
Do I have gremlins in my car? or is this something that Acura did on purpose?

I had a similar problem with my CC.

Turned out to be a rubber bushing on the clutch pedal that is supposed to push a little button (switch). The switch on the Clutch pedal does not let the CC system activate unless the clutch pedal is not pushed. When the rubber bushing fell out, the system thought the pedal was always pushed and therefore never engaged.

How to use:

  1. Press CC button on dash to turn system on

  2. Get car up to desired speed (must be above 45 MPH)

  3. press “SET” button on steering wheel.

Car will hold that speed unless you do any of the following:

a) Press Clutch
b) Press Brake
c) Turn off CC switch on Dash.

Theres more to it, but that is the basics.

Does your horn work? If not, it could be that you need to replace them before your cruise will work. I know it sounds crazy, but it’s on the same circuit, and when my horns stopped working, so did my cruise. Replaced the horns and then it worked again.

take the whole unit out cruise control sucks! If you want my old one i’ll give it to you for free + shipping

What he said… It’s most likely the clutch switch rubber bushing but could be the brake switch too.
And to mugenb18: If you’re serious, I’d like to get the slip ring assy. that’s in the column under the steering wheel.
