I have no power to my driver-side high beam lamp on my 90 gs. The wire that is color coded red with blue stripe. The fuzes are ok in the fuze panel. Is there a relay I should know about? Where does this wire go do. And can I just splice it into the driver-side wiring?
Have u tried switching the bulbs and checking if its not your light bulb?
Yeah replaced the bulbs with ultra brights. I used a multimeter etc but the one wire was dead. I spent the afternoon re-wiring it and now the high beams are running off a relay type system. Looks to be brighter alsol
what did u change to make it brighter?
corecting what i said earlier. It was the passenger side wiring that is not working right.
I cut into the high-beam wire on the driver side and ran a lead over to the passenger side where I have a 40amp relay. From the relay, the output power is than going into the bulb on driver/passenger sides of the car. The relay is wired directly into the battery and everything is 16guage. I may re-wire the low beams, but they should be fine for now.
make suree u have the right bulb! i had the same problem cuz i used a 9007 and that was my problem
What are the difference between 9004 and 9007? They look identical… I am using the 9004’s
I’ve been running it with the 9004’s for a few days and my bulbs are melted at the socket. I dont know if they’re getting too much power now or what, but they’re bright when they are working. I grabbed another set of bulbs to be sure. They are 80/100watt
auto parts stores like autozone sell high temp. sockets i got a pair for 7.99 just cut ur old socket and splice the new 1
9004 are 65/45w.
9007 are 65/55w.
The plug melted because of heat due to resistance because of poor connections, [terminals loose or corroded], once burnt the plug and terminals will need to be replaced.
As mentioned… “auto parts stores like autozone sell high temp. sockets”, you can get a socket with pigtail, [terminals and a few inches of wire] to replace the burnt one(s)94
why not y’all use the hid
