i drove to work the other day 1 1/4 hrs with no problems… got in c ar at lunch time to go get something to eat and it just kept cranking over. i pulled ditsy cover off and found the rotor screw wedged into the rear disty cover… the cap was wrecked and the rotor was wrecked. i work at nissian dealership by this time it was about 3;00 and only could get parts delievered till 330 so i got a new cap rotor and coil puot it all together same thing no spark. took cap and rotor off again and found the part that “reads” the shaft comming through the disty had a hole in the back of it also the little tab that reads that shaft was bent soo i think i gotta get this part next. my question is is this the ignitor modual? or something else? theres 2 more parts in the disty that i dont know what they are… anyone got any advice on testing this items? the rotor turns but no spark. now car is sitting at work and its a hike away. car had no problems going i cant believe this happened out of the blue its crazy
ok soo i found out that part is a crank sensor… i guess i better just replace the whole disty… any one ideas if this dont resolve the problem?
jus replace the whole distributor …when this happened to my car i changed the ignitor then the control module and still gave no sparkk…so i just changed the whole thing and it was giving spark again
