Between shifts I hear a reving noise. Do I have an exhaust leak? Or could it be something else? TIA

Do you have an automatic or a manual tranny?
I have a manual transmission. My car between shifts sounds like I am leaving my foot on the gas pedal. I am pretty sure I have an exhaust leak between my exhaust manifold and cat.
