North Carolina RTP/Wake County spotted!

Been in NC for a good two years now, and have seen a good handful of pretty clean DA’s and the occasional DB down here. Just spotted a red one today at Chipotle with LS Meshes and JDM headlights, but didn’t spot the owner before he jetted. I haven’t met any fellow G2ICers since I’ve been here, and I’m feeling the itch. If you see a white DA with some ugly black and silver wheels, JDM lamps and a Washington plate in the window there’s a pretty good chance it’s me:

Definitely trying to hook up with some locals on here some time. I’ll post pics of future local sightings here.

thats my buddy cisero, hes got that up for sale, 92 gsr

hes also got a black turbo one.

i drive a black one as well.

if your talking about the cary chip. we both work near there

yeah that was me, getting my grub one!! its just a dinky old pretty much stock DB2, that needs paint and bodywork BAD!!

How much you selling the white gsr for?

Haha I see. Sometimes you gotta let 'em go. If I see either of your cars around I’ll probably stop and share a quick what’s up.

Spotted a DA9 headed East on I40 just west of Raleigh. One headlight out, the other was blue, super noisy exhaust. Couldn’t tell the color it was so dark, white I think? Where you at?! :manual:

I’ll be coming into Raleigh this weekend. Selling some parts 'n stuff… may see me around on the highway/near nc state

Did you guys have a hard time with emmisions? Did everyone from NC pass?

On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) Emissions Inspection
North Carolina is fighting ozone-forming emissions from gasoline-operated cars and light duty trucks. Inspections are conducted using the vehicle’s On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) system, computerized equipment installed on all new vehicles since 1996.

Exemptions, the following vehicle types do not need an OBD Emissions Inspection:
■Vehicles 35 years old, or older
■Model 1995 vehicles, or older
■Diesel-operated vehicles
■Vehicles licensed under the farmer rate

nothing to it if your car is an original obd0 or obd1 car

would a gutted cat pass?

considering thats the cats main purpose and unless your running a really good tune, im gonna say chances are it wont…

but if NC wont do Emissions Inspection and it looks like I have at cat…i just figured one of these NC boys have done it. i wonder if NC has a sound level limit in NC. My greedy exhaust with a gutted cat is loud.

 cant realy say then cause Im not sure how NC checks for emission outputs…

If o2 doesn’t report anything (if OBD2) - if obd1 or previous you can do w/e the fuck you want as long as you got a muffler sticking out the rear.

Usually not a problem. I’ve run open header for months at a time and been without any harassment.

That being said, if you and someone else are cruising down the highway at 80, and your car is louder…
