Hi,

I want to confirm something I heard. When replacing nuts & bolts, is it OK to get standard, maybe cheap nuts from any hardware store? Someone told me to get the OEM parts from the dealer. Well, a bolt is a bolt. But someone told me OEM parts are especially created for automotive, so they are better quality, the threads will last longer if the nuts is removed… blabla…

Nuts and bolts are graded. For the most part I use OEM nuts and bolts, but you can replace them with generic stuff. Just get the highest available grade (8.8, 10, etc.)
