Wow. I had so much fun driving the ol’ jasper green teg! I miss having an integra so bad! Anyone else not have a teg but miss theirs? Pictures to follow this evening!
TegYoungin is the current owner of the jasper green aka g2teg 2. He’s doing a great job at keeping up the car and customizing it to his liking. I’m so happy the teg has a great owner!!!
Yes I bought a WRX for the speed/wagon/AWD/newer but it hasn’t proven to be nearly as much fun as my Integra was to drive. I am currently looking for a clean G2 to buy - hard to find down here - and make it my project car.
I had an 03 WRX. It had 58k when 1st gear went out. Then drove it starting in 2nd for a few months. Then 2nd went out. Subaru of America claimed it was abuse and neglect. It was faulty parts. Probably my last 5 speed Subaru. I would consider an automatic Subaru though. Anyway had the WRX at the same time as the teg and always picked driving the teg over the WRX.

Thats awesome!
I am myspace friends with the kid that bought my Integra. He put ebay halos and altezzas on it, then crashed it! Fortunately he is fixing it. I still miss my first Integra.
Don’t get me wrong the WRX is pretty fun. I’ve rally crossed it a couple times and it’s shown to be a pretty quick car with just an exhaust and a tune.
But it’s bigger than my Integra and not as nimble. It might be that my first car was a G2 and I had made it my own through lots of hard work. But the WRX just doesn’t feel as sporty as my little Integra did. I’ve wanted a turbo Integra since I started driving - so that will be my project
My friend let me drive his 05 sti and that thing was so dam fast. I had the hardiest time trying to shift because i was smashed in to the seat. Id love to get one but i think id keep on to my teg instead only because id just end up killing my self with a car that powerful. OP, thats cool you got to drive you’re old teg. Hope you end up getting another one.
I know we did work to it when he first got it. We put a bigger down pipe and a bigger BOV. Then we cut out the cat. I know he had moved the inter cooler to the front of the car, added a turbo timer and chipped the ECU. He is pushing about 400whp as far is i know. Might be a lil faster now because he has been doing more mods.
Yeah just something about the teg is “just right.” The WRX was fun but I liked my quick response, I hated waiting for the turbo to spool. Off the line, the teg was quicker, but later the WRX left it in the dust. The 02/03 WRX’s had the same transmissions as the standard legacy or outback- I can’t remember but that transmission wasn’t built for a turbo set-up, thus the poor design.
I would love to get a Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT though
My first car was a 78 Subaru 4 speed. It was so ugly but was so fast to fix and lasted tell i got my Lincoln mark 7. I miss that car so much and have never seen 1 like it around. But like you said, the DA is just so much funner to drive.
