O2 sensor

So i have been searching around and I have a small question

Does an aftermarket O2 sensor really perform better than a stock O2 sensor? Because i was just gonna get one from the CarQuest my uncle works at, since he gives me discounts.

No, an aftermarket sensor isn’t going to work better than stock. In fact stock is probably going to be better. The OEM sensor is very high quality, and thus is expensive. You can pickup cheaper aftermarket replacement sensors at your local autoparts store but I wouldn’t trust it to be as good. But there are many different brands out there, so that’s a pretty broad statement. Some are going to be higher quality than others.

If you’re talking about performance meaning horsepower… any working oxygen sensor will be fine. Higher quality O2 sensors are just going to fit better, work better, and last longer. But don’t expect it to be a horsepower upgrade.

thanks a lot! it was hard to find alot about this item

Bosch make a pretty good sensor.

i’ve never had luck with bosch in any honda :frowning:

Just buy the oem Denso from www.Denso.com.

I did, cost $70 after shipping, and I went from getting 240 miles per tank to over 360. Denso is the original OEM part.

+1 i bought denso now that i think of it, had it in for 18k and no complaints.

Denso makes good spark plug wires too.

Edit:
By the way i just found the o2 sensor on ebay for about 40 bucks.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1990-90-ACURA-INTEGRA-LS-Oxygen-Sensor-DENSO-2341009_W0QQitemZ190298027115QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item190298027115&_trksid=p4506.m20.l1116
I dont think this one includes the wire.

mine is shot, sparkplugs.com had the cheapest prices by far, deff check them out, i think they had a direct fit for 55 shipped

i just did mine on my da with a b20b high comp run very nice i got an NTK Oxygen Sensor witch is NGK for like 40 bucks and it works great.

Question

Does the o2 sensor have to do anything with the gas comsuption in the integra, my milage use to be about 300 and now is about 220 just wondering if the o2 has anything to do with it.if anyone can help thank you.

what year is your car? the oxygen sensor measures the oxygen content in the exhaust system by its temperature. the pcm sees that level and adjusts accordingly. if the sensor reads too slowly, or sluggish, fuel economy will suffer
please, correct me if i’m wrong of the function

92-93 integras are obd1 and equipped with a much more efficient 4 wire o2 sensor. heat, signal and 2 grounds. 90-91’s only a single signal wire

O2

its a 91 gs

yes. it does effect fuel economy

Wow old thread hahaha
yeah that’s why I figured my o2 sensor was busted. The damn car sucked down gas way faster than it should have. With the new o2 sensor it got like 26mpg as opposed to like 16 mpg

Thanks

Thank you for the info, god bless
