Ok well im trying to adjust the timing on my 91 integra. I jumped the service connector with a paper clip and it didnt work, then tried a wire and it didnt work either. The wiring seems completely fine. And I know the engine light works as it turns on when i turn the key to the ON position then it shuts off. Im clueless :bang:. Any Ideas?
What do you mean it didn’t work. What didn’t work… From my experience, when you jump the connector nothing should change. All it does (if i remember correctly) is prevent the computer from adjusting timing.
The CEL is supposed to be solid. And that was confirmed true from all the write ups I have viewed. But mines is not solid.
Mine’s never been and I’ve never had an issue timing it. Is your setup bone stock?
the cel isn’t illuminated on obd-0 hondas when jumping the service connector. the led on the pcm is
Neither is illuminated when jumping the service connector
try checking your fuses. the service circuit may be incorporated into the cig lighter circuit or another circuit
I would bet money that the ignition control module inside the distributor is shot.
It controls ignition, as well as the tachometer. If that dont work swap computers and see what happens.
