Do the 90-91’s give a check engine light when theres a injector problem?
On occassion when i first start the car it idles really rough and revs up like a old truck that aint been run in years. Rev it a few times and it goes right back to normal other than a little bit of a loss of power feeling.
Anybody got any ideas? Its not the o2 sensor issues ive had those before and know its not that. Not to mention o2 sensor is pretty new still.
got a haynes manual? volt meter? check the ohms on the coolant temp sensor, see if its in spec…
yes there is a code for fuel systems. Check the teg tips. Also check the coolant level. It might have something to do with you FITV.

FITV is fine. Idling really rough at around 1500-1600rpm.
Dad was behind the car yesterday when i left and it did it, he said when i started it up it puffed out a little gas smoke and after i revved ita few times it cleared up. So it is something fuel related. To give a example of what it feels like when i start it up. Think of a older carb car with the timing really retarded and how at lower rpm it does that sputter while the rpm is rising. Thats what this one does but only untill it clears up the gas in the cylenders.
You ever change the fuel filter?
Or do a fuel injector cleaning?
I dump fuel injector cleaner in about every 10 tanks. And the fuel filter has around 5k miles on it. Also cleaned the throttlebody really good about 1000 miles ago.
It started after the motor got about 3/4 up the gauge cuz the radiator busted (didnt overheat, head gasket is good). Is it posable the heat did something to the injectors?
maybe coolant got on the o2 sensor and fried it? it has happend, but i dont think it would effect your start up, good luck

Would the check engine light come on if there was a injector problem? Or would i have to check for codes to find out?
Yes it would. just recest the ecu and try again.
Ok, yesterday i confirmed my car is on occassion running extremely rich causing the idle to be weird and the car to rev weird untill it hits a high enuf rpm to burn off the extra fuel.
Anybody have any ideas for this? Im getting no ecu codes.
i just got the code 16 fuel injector code i was goin through my gears shifting at about 7k its a 95 b18c1 swap and now my car studders and shake after that cel came on ive searched but really find possible causes.
figureed it out one of my injectors did not have the retaining metal peice on the connector so to the naked eye the injector looked plug in but it was loose and gettin a poor connection.
hi i have a 89 civic and it idles bad and its throwing the code its iac and iat. and when i drive it the car tugs on low rpm??? could some one help me???please respond??
