I know how to read codes but i dont know how to get this DA to throw out codes.
with obd0 i just look at the ecu.
but on obd1 i hear that u can just look at the Check Engine Light and see it flash by just using a “Paper Clip”?
anybody know how?
you are supposed to jump a plug and your check engine light will flash the code. i don’t know what the plug looks like. i have heard that it is near the passenger kickpanel. maybe someone with an originally obd1 car can give you its location. i have an obd0 to obd1 converted car so i had to make a switch.
Check Engine Light Codes for OBD1
The plug is on the passengers side kick panel and had a Brown wire and a Green/White wire.
With the key in position #2, put a piece of wire or paperclip and jump the plug. You will then get flashing from the CEL.
you will get a series of blinks with a pause, then a new series if it is a double digit code. Just count the flashes. For example, if you get 2 flashes a pause and another 2 flashes, your getting code #22.
