Hey guys, I’m just about to finish up with the “big” project and I was wondering if anyone had any feedback about diffrent universal mufflers to choose from. I’ve kinda got it narrowed down to the OBX Evo 2 style mufflers, and I say 2 because I am going to fabricate a custom dual set-up. I’m a little concerned that I haven’t been able to find anyone that has had this exhaust, and I could only find one sound clip that was in car and wasn’t very good quality. Anyone have feedback about this muffler, or one that sounds very good and comes in the universal, can-only set up?
I’ve looked at the twin loop as well, and it looks like it’s pretty good. I’m not sure why it was said that obx was the worst brand, can anyone explain?
It’s probably not the worst brand by any means, it’s just on the cheap side for alot of their products. Those mufflers don’t look too bad, most OBX stuff I believe is just cheap over sea’s made stuff that they mark with there brand name. It’s really a toss up, if you don’t feel like spending alot of money, chances are the product just won’t last as long or maybe not fit very well.
My usage of the car when it is finished will be a weekend driver/ nice weather only. Sunny days only with a tear from my face if it decides to rain and I’m out. I know that with some exhausts, over time carbon will build up in the canister and create that raspy, ricey tone that we all hate. I’m not too worried about fitment becasue it will be a custom dual application, and we will make it fit. My question is, has anyone heard of the OBX mufflers having a problem with quick carbon build up, or un-natural rust or sound, or anything else that will cause it to have the monkier of a cheap brand?
