Has anyone ever gotten an OBX headers befor? Are they any good and how’s thier fitment? I’m looking at one right now for about $100 and was wondering if it’s a good deal or not.
jlspec, he’s just saying that because he can’t answer your question. But, in a more polite manner, there have been a few recent threads about obx headers, if you search you’d prolly come up with them. But, there is heated debate over them, people who have them tend to say they are good, no major fitment problems or anything else. People who “have friends with them” tend to say they are poorly made or not worth it. The threads aren’t the best to get info from anyways because of the split. I say find someone with it, then talk to them and get their opinion.
They suck dont get them. I had them on my teg for one day and then sent them back. The ports for the manifold are smaller then stock and the welds looked like crap.
i just put a OBX-R header on my B18C and love it.
fit perfect. and dispite what burch92 said my welds were beautiful.

Well the ones I got were crap next to DC sports but I didnt get the R and like I said befor the ports for the B18a were smaller then stock. They looked good but thats about it. I have pix but I dont have a scanner or I would post them up and let you see why I didnt like them. Mine didnt look like yours at all, I got then from a place called kissmotorsports.com. Hope they work good for you man and they do look good. Nice looken motor if I may add.
wow… thats the nicest one ive seen… i wonder if it clears the X member tho?
anywho the only thing that stopped me from buying the OBX header was all the past reveiws… i heard a lot of people saying that it is angled upward so the flange for the cat doesnt sit against the header flange… that and im not sure if its even reall CC… i see a lot of those other brand header coatings come off in less than a year… thats why i just said fuck it and forked out the extra money for the DC…if i really had the cash i woulda went after a greddy… thats a nice piece
thanks guys. and no the header did not clear the x-member. we had to remove it and beat the shit out of it. it now looks something like this:
as far as everything else goes, i didn’t have a say in what header i got. i gave the guys my cash and said get whats best for my application. perhaps they got what was cheapest and pocketed a bit of cash, who knows. but im happy with it.
now my tranny is shit an di have to invest in a new one
