Ok so I no longer want simple bolt ons I want more NA power. I was curious if anyone has tried the OBX ITB’s for the B18B? I understand the need for head work to gain optimal power. I have B18a I’m sure it can work with it. Has anyone tried it? If so what should I expect? Thanks in advance.
um i dont know from experience but i hear ITB’s aren’t good for DD, considering it’s only effective at high rpms
UNLESS you have fairly long intake runners between the TB and head. i know on a 2.2L to keep the powerband useable you need abotu a 9in long runner I THINK
Thanks for the info, if thats the case, these runners should be perfect. I found them for $600.00 new. Time to start saving money.
Please, don’t.
There is absolutely no point in you trying to put generic brand (OBX) ITBs on your non-VTEC B18A. Individual throttle bodies are made to give increased throttle response at high RPMs, not necessarily add horsepower. Considering the fact that your B18A will barely see 7,000 RPM, you will be spending $600 to make your car run like shit and get poor gas mileage.
itb’s are the LAST item one should buy for an extensively built engine.
I appreciate the info fellas.
