odd creeking noise when turning wheel

:dead:

I did a search but came up with nothing. So…

When ever I turn my wheel, my whole front end starts making a creeking noise. It also makes the same noise when hitting bumps… sounds like my shock is making the noice, but anyone ?!

thanks

Go have your CV boot checked… it might be damaged and needs replacement.

is your car lowered a lot? it could be your tire rubbing the inside of your wheel well. but without hearing it, .

Whats an average price or estimated price if a CV Boot has to be replaced??

I replaced the driver side axel (comes with new CV joints and boot) for $80 at pepboys… if you just want to do the boot yourself, it’s like $20 for cv boot, greese, and the clamp…

$60 for axle at Oreilly’s (non abs)

It sounds like You should not try to replace the boot yourself…

Also, check your power steering resevour first, power steering creaks…cv joints click.

In my experience

my car had the same problem but it turned out to be lower ball joints. just make a little slit in the boot and spray lubracant in and it should stop temporarily then you will know for sure
lower ball joints are cheap to buy.
