OEM Air Filter

I want to replace the OEM air filter in my JDM DA6 and I’ve been searching the forum for the part number but I can’t seem to find it. I would think it’s here somewhere but I’ve had no luck in turning it up.

Does anyone know the part number for it?

Thanks.

Ouch, the shipping on that one is gonna hurt lol.

I dont understand why Honda had to make the stock intake so complicated.
I know it is to reduce noise, but I think a good short ram or cold air intake makes the b18a sound better, not really louder.

Thanks for the link pcolony, however I’m having the same trouble I always have when I try to use that site - it just will not load, ever. No matter what I do, I can’t view the page.

Could you please grab the part number off the site and post it here? That way I can give it to my local dealer who can hopefully order one in for me.

Thanks.

For just the air filter element:

17220-PR3-000 ELEMENT ASSY., AIR CLEANER 1992 INTEGRA 18.74 14.06

Or to get the set (with little filter too)

17223-PR3-000 ELEMENT SET 1992 INTEGRA 27.93 20.95

Thank you very much indeed, that’s a huge help.

Just ordered a 17220-PR3-000, and it has cost me $30.40 USD (£18.41 GBP) delivered.

thats no that bad, but if you dont mind me asking, if your using a stock filter box. how come you didnt buy a K & N or similar reusable filter??

I don’t mind you asking mate - I just want to keep the engine bay side of things OEM.

K and N makes air filters that fit the stock intake box.
They have better air flow and last over 10 times longer.

Hmm. I didn’t actually know that. Maybe I ought to cancel my OEM filter order (it’s on back-order from Japan anyway) and look into the K&N one…

EDIT: Ok, so I’ve found a place in the UK that can source the K&N, but it’s almost twice as much money. I don’t do that much mileage a year (maybe 5k miles) so is it really worth the extra cash?

Its up to you man. I personally love my K and N. However I have an aftermarket short ram intake. So therefore I use the standard 3 inch cone filter.

Its a K&N… therefore the filtration should be better than OEM… Its reuseable, and will last longer than most any filter out there.

In short, you’d never have to buy another air filter for your car.

I have a spare brand new K&N I would sell for $30 + shipping. I just don’t even have a ballpark figure of how much shipping to the UK would be. Probably wouldn’t be worth it on your end.

It does sound like it would be worth going for the K&N…

I’d be interested if you could look into the shipping. I could always email you my address? If you don’t mind going to the effort, that is - I’d understand if it was too much hassle.

do you mind me asking, Why did you order just the main and not the small filter also!
If you were to get the k&n filter you would still have to replace the small filter and as far as i know you cannot get that on its own!

i had an cold air induction kit in my XSi and trust me it dosent do anything for the car your better off sticking to oem!

Email me and I’ll see what the shipping looks like.

The previous poster is correct about the little filter comment. I didn’t replace that one just yet. I’ve been thinking about finding the 90-91 OEM upper intake box to eliminate the small filter. Either that or just seal it off altogether because it seems kind of pointless to me.

I don’t mind you asking at all mate. I spoke to the parts chap at Steel’s Honda (UK) who is very good at sourcing parts for imports (does lots for JDM DC2 and DC5 owners and has helped me in the past), and I gave him both of the part numbers (i.e, single filter and then large plus small filter pair) as given above by pcolony, and the only one that came up for my car was the number for the single filter. As far as I know, the early DAs don’t have the smaller filter - when I opened my airbox it only had the one main filter, I know that much.

And to be honest, a CAI doesn’t interest me on this car anyway.

I should have read your post too before commenting about the twin filter thing - you’ve just confirmed what I thought, that the early cars only have the one filter. So thanks for that.

Also, thanks for offering to price up the shipping to the UK, but my OEM one actually came yesterday in the post. I was told it could take up to 8 weeks due to the issues in Japan but it actually took just over 1 week!

Never mind, I’m happy with it for now.
