oem wheels/rims online are they over priced?

i saw some oem hx wheels selling for $300 with ok tires. and one set for $250 with ok tires
i also saw oem starfish wheels for $350 with 25% thread on tires no center cover
gsr blades for $450 without tires? painted white? gsr blades $500 with good tires?
si wheels /rims for $400 with good tires.
ls meshies $380 with good tires. another one for $400 with good tires

i think some people sells them on craigslist are way too pricey for me?
What you guys think with these prices? is it over priced or fair priced?

well i know its oem wheels and i know theres nothing wrong it if you like oem wheels. but in my personal opinion some are too pricey.

there overpriced

Clean Blades seem to bring some good money, along with Si’s, and the rest of Honda’s premium alloys, but all the base model wheels it seem people want way to much for them just because they are “OEM”. And it depends on the tires, if those Blades have $250 worth of tires on them, that’s a pretty good deal if you are needing tires right about then =] Especially if the price is negotiable.

well all the prices are firm here specially blades are considered luxury wheels. some sells them for $480-$600 with new tires. even Sis sells for $450-$580 with good tires. too expensive. i rather but Itr replicas or ctr replicas for that price. also some people sells polished hxs and polished Sis for $400 without tires yikes. I almost bought one last week the guy that selling the polished Sis didnt tell me it doesnt come with tires. he is asking $450 without tires.

Overpriced…

i have sold many sets of Hx wheels for over $400…first and foremost the HX wheels are extremely light and are produced by Enkie…i have hand polished a few sets and have painted a few sets. people love these wheels, now on the other hand i wouldnt trade my steelies for a set of Si’s or GSR blades(imo they are ugly, heavy, offset is terrible)…my .02- HX wheels are well worth up to $600 if done right with nice meats and shit on any replica wheels

Exactly.

In one instance you’re talking about OEM wheels, but comparing the prices to replica wheels? Doesn’t make sense. That’s like comparing the price of a Hytech header to a knock-off replica header. Sure they’re close to the same, but the quality of them aren’t really comparable.

Companies sell reconditioned (virtually brand new) OEM wheels for $160each. And a decent set of tires will run $80each+mounting/balancing. So what does that equal? $640 for reconditioned OEM wheels and $400 for tires? In that instance, I would say yes they are overpriced…

But $400 for Si or mesh wheels with good tires is a bargain. Id hate to see your reaction to the price of a Racing Hart or CCW wheel. You’d be looking at over $1,000 just for rims, let alone tires.

Go to a Honda or Acura dealership and get a quote on a set of Si or blades, you’d be surprised what they cost new. With that said the used prices are pretty decent considering what they cost new + tires if tires are on them. The average 205/50/15 tire which I would guess to be most common on our OEM wheels is around $75ish depending on brand and tread style, so 4x$75 is 300 alone if the tires are near new.

So figure the blades are $450 with near new tires your only paying under $38 a rim
