For the past couple of days now I have noticed somthing weird with my teg, I think it has to do with the transmission… I think.
The first weird thing is when I go above 4000+ RPMs and let off the gas it produces this horid shake/rattle in the shifter, and it makes a sound like I just downshifted to 2nd gear from 5th. This has me very worried, I don’t know why it does that, and ideas?
The second thing is when I go to press in the clutch, when say going into 2nd, I feel a horible grind/clunk, it definitly comes from under the hood Also lately the clutch is harder to press to the floor, and doesn’t seem to be going into gear as good.
It sounds to me like your pressure plate is trash, replace the clutch. From what you said about it making noise when letting off the throttle at 4k+, a synchro came to mind, but the second symptom points to the clutch
The rattling sounds like it would be associated with your clutch problem. If its not that, then get your cars alignment done. If still having the grinding from the tranny, then your synchro’s are bad/shot (pretty common) I’ve had 6 trannies on my car and all had bad synchros.
Also lately the clutch is harder to press to the floor, and doesn’t seem to be going into gear as good.
