Rant time!!
So I go to get a new cone style air filter and exhaust gaskets. Apparently I’m a fuck*** retard and this part —> GKT-A-HONDA-2-DP <— doesnt exist. “It takes 2 crush rings sir” No it doesnt. The part is right here… So we find it in a book, “its special order” and you cant get it to me until the 5th of never. Thanks. 3 stores and 3 hrs later im ready to go godzilla on this small town of small minded fucks who dont carry the only gasket I’ve ever seen between the collector and downpipe.
No filter either. I guess you can buy it in a kit but not a replacement itself. You’ve. Got. To. Be. Kidding. Not for a second do I believe these were mass produced but unable to leave the factory unless it left with a pipe and hardware.
On another note I have 2 connectors that dont seem to have a home. I didnt move them from their zip tied home and there is nothing remotely close whatsoever :shrug: Whatever. tomorrow is another day, maybe I can calm down by then.

Story time! So wake up to foot of snow, deal with driving a couple hours (subie its ok:sipread:). Wait on alignment and plan radiator and starter replacement that evening. At napa to buy rad but the standard they had in stock (after calling to verify) had nipples for auto trans. Other location had what i want. “I’ll drive there right now” Put hood prop down to leave SNAP :wtf: Sweeeetttt! nipple for upper rad hose just broke off flush with the unit. Guess im going nowhere. Get dolly, get car, blah blah. Replace rad starter and lights in a friends barn.
Keep in mind where i am. Wind chill in negatives. Even using mech gloves barely allows you to hold metal long. Shits dangerous. Temp -7 last night.

BUT she runs like a dream so no complaints. As for the transmission gearing I love it. Cruising at 70 is around 2k 2200 rpm. Sometimes you get it to typical hum level look down and see excessive speeding…oops!

Today I cleaned IACV which fixed my hunting idle problem :cool: Idled perfectly at 750-800. Touched the throttle once and now 1200 is lowest it gets (smooth not hunting whatsoever).
-Topped off and bled system
-Return spring is not stuck
-IACV [U]IS[U] clean I can assure (damn perfectionists)
Suggestions please…

Also did some digging and here are my trans gearing vs stock

My aunt who lives there wont take the double decker bridge either since she has seen fallen concrete on the lower level. This was a big issue a while back that faded; our infrastructure is crumbling.

Bad tps? Did you drop the tb at some time? Only other thing I can think of is resetting the computer and let it idle for a while till it cycles. Is your throttle cable hung up on anything? Did you plug the pigtail back into the iacv

For sure didn’t drop anything. Throttle cable free and clear, checked to make sure cable adjustment wasn’t culprit. And yes pigtail on.
On way home CEL back for:
P0505 & P0420
0420 is efficiency below threshold bank one and 0505 just says idle control system. Was told (parts store) efficiency was pre-cat o2 sensor. new denso unit installed (and connected) during trip. 0505 is why i cleaned IACV. I guess next step is to computer reset. Then if still nothing I will take it to my friend who is a honda tech and prelude guru.

^^^^^^and thats why we have range supervisors set up post lol. I guess they feel we are being unsafe even though the majority of our group has been in the military and knows the proper way to handle and shoot a firearm. (You would’ve been escorted out instantly, even on “rapid fire” days)

Back to the lude, the CEL tends to come on under steady throttle. Whether its 1500rpm or 3000. I have yet to experience it while actually idling.
Also noting again, on morning warm-up it will idle properly until I touch the throttle anywhere from 1-5 times. Then its 12-1300rpm idle.

Got some specs on that supra…and its for sale…
