I am looking to possibly get a 4dr. It has its problems but I know what most are. The one thing that has me puzzled is the oil light. Why you ask, b/c it constantly stays on and flashes from bright red then dims. It does it all the time. My buddie who’s selling the car was told its the oil sending unit. So he went and bought one but hasn’t put it on. Could that be why the light dims? I am getting the car for a descent price, if I buy from him.
Light Issue
All I can recommend at this time would be to hook up an oil pressure gauge into the same slot as where you’d put the oil sender. Find out what the pressure is like. The light is ment to come on when you oil pressure is either too low or to high, other words when the computer notice’s something is doing something it doesn’t like. Normal cure would be to replace the oil pump depending on what the test results show. My car I’ve had it for about 2 years now light comes on and off all the time however my oil pressure gauge shows everything is normal. What I did was use a thicker oil ( 10-40 or in my case 20-50) Be careful that oil pump is not only a pain if not taken care of can destroy you motor. I hope i was some short of help. If you need pm me I’ll check back soon. By the way I believe your pressures should be around 30 at idle and about 55 at 3,000 rpm. Do some research on it though don’t quote me.

Well the car doesn’t slug or anything. Most of the time if it is a pressure issue that will be a symptom.
it’s probably just low on oil…
mines was doing that for a bit, i added a bit of oil and it stopped.
Mine blinked like that and i found out it’s the oil pump.
thanks for the info but I don’t think I’ll be getting it. I found another that is still a good price and much nicer.
