Oil Pan gasket

my oil pangasket it shoot. I put my car on a lift and i saw that there was oil seeping threw. It’s not dripping on the ground but it’s seeping all over the side of the oil pan. How much should this cost to repair

That happened to me and there was oil everywhere under my car. i took to a no name mechanic because people like michellin tire co. and other places would wanna charge you $400+ bucks. i payed about $200 for a used oil pan, oil pan gasket and all the labor included, But ask around, it’s worth it.

If the gasket is the only thing that needs to be fixed, then I suggest you do it yourself. Just takes a ratchet, extension, breaker bar, and assorted metric sockets to remove it.

Good luck,

Oz

$400?!?
What kinda crap is that. THe place that I go to if I need anything like that said they will do mine for $160. And that is with them re-bending the pan cause its bent to chit.

Also USE A TORQUE WRENCH!!!
The idiot that had the car before me tried to replace it on his own and bent my pan all up. THis is not fun because no matter how many times you chance the gasket, it will leak until you get it bent back.

 good luck though

Holy crap, why are you guys spending so much to fix something so minor? The gasket is ~$30 from Acura, I’m sure you all have at least one 10mm socket…

Pick up the service manual before spending almost $200 to fix an oil pan gasket…

Those are easy to replace, just get a 10mm socket, extension, torque wrench and HELMS MANUAL and you will be set.
The hardest part is pulling off the b-pipe from the exhaust manifold.

Just keep in mind that there is a sequence that those bolts/nuts have to to tightened in or you will wrinkle the gasket and it wont seal worth crap.
