1990 Acura Integra LS
193XXX
S-PRO intake (all stock other than that)
Ok so i have spent the day looking at posts about this problem. They all seam to be a little bit different. So what mine is doing (i just bought it 2 days ago) is the light will flash and i turn it off (the car) and restart it does not flash!(weird) I read somthing about the ICU and the compasators going bad or somthing like that. Also i changed the oil today and didnt do it, then about after the third time starting the car it came on again. I doesn’t not knock the engine has 193xxx on it. has some engine noise not a lot about normal for that milage.
I am going to check the oil pressure with gauge tomorrow. Also i am going to change the timing belt. So at the point i use going to replace the oil pump. After reading all the posts i am thing on just thinking about changing the rod bearing also.
I would just like some more info on the deal i just dont want to rebuild the engine yet. Because i have another 91 that i am in the process of maybe rebuilding it. i know how to do it all its not my first rodeo by any means. Just would like to hear what you g2er’s have to say…
What have you done between then and now? Just check pressure and change your belt? Bad ground is possible, yes. Doesn’t seem like it is creating a problem, if your oil pressure is fine and you can see oil jetting into your head you should be alright.
Grounds are easy enough to check and clean so you might as well do that anyway, will help you avoid problems with them in the future too. There’s a few diagrams that show where they are all located in the Helms manual. You can download the .PDF from somewhere if you don’t already have it, should be something around 1200 pages if memory serves me right.
thanks you very much i could not use my friends gauge yet. i guess the person i bought it from was a retard or somthing grounds were loose and not clean. Cleaned them and swaped out my dist for a know good one because of my tach and rough idle. it runs great and no oil light yet i am still going to check the oil presure. also the end of the dist the little ear that go into the cam wobbled a lot, so when i switch it out it took out a lot of the engine noise i thought i hat also! ( i looked like a new dist also…weird)
Oil Pressure light: I have a feeling it’s just the wire that plugs into the oil sensor on the back of the block. I have had problems with this, just pull the wire out of the sensor and make sure that the wire is making contact. The sensor is right above the oil filter, you can’t miss it. Single wire going to the sensor. Make sure you push the wire all the way back in.
thank you i am going to look at it right now! i just dont want to spin a bearing like a week after i got it is all!!! i am going to pul out the icu also today and look it over.
