It’s more likely the crank seal that’s leaking. It sits inside the timing cover.
But to change that cover, it’s basically the same length of time/labor as it is to do the timing belt. Plus pulling the oil pan.
It’s not gonna be cheap. Seeing as how you’d want to do the belt, water pump, tensioner and oil pan gasket as well while you’re in there. It’s probably about a 3-4 hour job. Although a shops book time will be longer than that

Ohhhh, I see now. My mechanic told me that I needed a new oil pump gasket, when he is really talking about the oil/crankshaft seal. Thanks for the help!
