I’m sooo glad there are guys out there like ya’ll that know what’s really going on. That’s the shit!
I feel so much better knowing people here actually have a sense of roots.

mugendaxsi, you’ve actually made a good point.
I’m from the east coast and got into the scene around 1988 myself.
I think the Honda scene took a few years to hit the east coast so that would account for my lack of “old school” Honda stories.
I do remember going to English Town when the only imports out there was RX-7s, Starlets /w rotaries, .8’s with rotaries, a few DSMs and American muscle.
Shit, any one remember Yugo Dave? in his all motor Yugo?
Damn Towlie, had to post that Powerflow…fucken a.
I miss the old days. My mind is still stuck there and it will always be…I supremely hate the way things are now…I just don’t give a shit about the scene these days. Today, its just commercialized like everything else that used to mean something. Money, capitalism, people being into it but not really knowing shit, fake race cars at car shows, people building cars for internet fame, 18-20 year old’s claimin old school but wernt even around, etc…People used build fast cars to beat on, now they just build them to park.
yeah so its not just me thats old and realize that these kids out here today cant get the picture to what we went through and watched the scene grow to what is now…“staright up BULL$#!t”. Now and these days, you gotta seperate the bull$#!t and the real, and there is alot of $#!t to move around.
Anyone in SoCal remember when Dynamic Autosport was the shop back then just cause they were down with Javier Gueterez of J.G Engine Dynamics. I won my first ported throttle body from them during a raffle in '95! Or lets bring back an old school name that repped DAs on the track!
DOES SOMEONE HAVE A PICTURE OF TONY FUCH’S DA FROM DARKSIDE MOTORING back in 1996-97?!!!
That was the first DA on nitrous to break some 1/4 mile numbers on the track before he went boost. Some pics of him and Stephan Papadakis in his EF when they went to an all domestic race and stunned the crowd when they broke 10s. That was a proud moment for Hondas and Acuras.
lol…i raced tony “keyes” fuch(k)s for fun at sylmar in 92…back then, he was only known as “keyes” from his dealer plates…we both had brand new (no plates) DA’s but he was squeezin already…single fogger, 75 shot…i lost, lol…man, hundreds of cars lined up under the bridge at the starting line…roxford street FTW!!!
dynamic/eddie kim was the first to make the accel DFI work with hondas. so everyone went to them and JG for the ecu tuning.
just for you kyle…
i even have the original box that went with your old power flow…don’t even remember what i did with my first powerflow. still have the sticker and the box though…lol
and just for shits and giggles…
word.
lol…
i feel you homie…been there and done that!
still livin/lovin it but i have grown up and have to work for a living now. my time building my DA will be put on the shelf soon. i’m done with her.
LOL I feel you… I don’t know how old you are, but a few buddies and I got back into it. Not like street racing into it, but just as enthusiasts that can somewhat afford more than back in high school or college with more means to do so. Check this out. I bought my 16" super fins off on Ken Myoshi (Mr. Import Showoff) while I was driving my M3. LOL. I went there, couldn’t believe it. Ken’s like “You know these won’t fit your car right?” LOL! 16" wont even clear the brakes haha.
Long story short, I bought the wheels before my DA and already knew what car I was gonna put them on.
Eat first, taste later
Rest is history!
those were the good days…:sigh:
my age is up there but i dont act and feel like it…i still love the Honda DA no matter what. made too many cool and real friends with this shit.
roxford street FTW!!!
If the cops show up, meet me at Denny’s. I always wondered what the people who just randomly happened to be there thought when 50+ street race cars showed up all at once, hung out in the parking lot, and then all left again at the same time. Then a half an hour later, they were all back. If I was just a random person there drinking coffee because it was late and I was getting tired and that shit happened. I’d be like WTF!?!

Seeing as how you guys have apparently been around for awhile…
Anyone personally know of my Integra?.
My integra was originally purchased by a Asian guy down here in NorCal who then installed BMW Side markers where the fender molding is, Had it carberated, JDM 1 pieces, Custom door speaker kick panels and some kind of custom subwoofer enclosure… This was all done back in the early to mid 90s… The guy’s name started with a R or something… He now works at a shop in Hayward CA. and drives a black ITR… I was at a car event afew years ago and afew people recognized it by the 1 of a kind traits (side markers and door kick panels).
It’s a black 90 DB1 with black leather interior… I thought it was strange when i bought it the fog lights were already re-wired… While the last owner didn’t seem like the type to do these things to it… Oh and it had “HELLA” fog lights in the bumper.
Some old school words that might bring back some memories.
Remember, I’m from the East Coast.
carbs, webber, holly, mukuni, dellorto, kkk, straight pipe, downdraft, side draft, jets, bronze clutch<-lol, panasport, bbs, epslion, virgin, short throw, center force 2, unsprung, dropped, deepdish, 5 stars, cartech, juice, stand stills, victoria british, bubbles, ground effects, peel out, chrome valve cover<-think wheels. stripped out, mafia tint, scoop, posi, fiber glass hood.

Definitly some of those things can be related on the left coast as well. Especially Weber carburators and Panasport wheels. No city lights or ambers out east? Anyone rock those IPF foglights just to be different from PIIA.
Oh and heres one the west can remember; passenger light out to direct air straight to your intake for the home made ram air and duct tape all along the creases of the hood at the track!
(please understand, I reside now in Texas but am originally from San Diego/Los Angeles, so I just remember these things when I was in my youth) nino, what ever happened to firehouse out in daygo or racing out by the Mexican border?
All I gotta say…
peep the game
You know lokwerks.com is just breaking my heart with that picture and story. The memory of that exit and under the bridge racing…I tell ya, it wasn’t nothing to me to drive out from SD after firehouse on thursdays, Ontario airstrip on fridays and Sylmar on saturdays. Stay at moms house in 213(LA) and go back to pops house in 619(SD). I LIVED FOR THE WEEKENDS!!!
nino, what ever happened to firehouse out in daygo or racing out by the Mexican border?
I grew up in Simi Valley and moved out to San Diego after college. My street racing days were long over by that point.

trudat!
One of the funniest memories i had from the day came from one of my nights at TI. It was 1993 when i got my new for 1994 Accord EX four door, autotragic tranny… My first car. Within a week, it was dumped on cut stock springs, k&n cone, ultraflow muffler, stock alloys with the centercaps removed, and yellow citylights. Went to TI one night with my cousins and ran into another black Accord just like mine with 3 pinays. Flirted a bit and ended up running them. And got smoked. Her car was stick and had squeeze. Fun times.
carmate sales, battle, ontario, TI, alameda, the first showoff…ahhhh wish i was young again.
Ultraflow… Is that a good brand? Thats what kind of muffler is on my DB1 right now… Came with the car.
“R.S AKIMOTO BIIIIOTCH!”
Knowing that $#!t was for Mazdas, and Honda folks were tryin’ to put that $#!t on their Civics! Decals of manufactuer parts on the rear side windows or down your door under the rear mirror.
Yeah ZIGGYDA8, I’m thinking you had the factory Accord 6 spoke rims with the center caps off…that made the Accord look tight! And Carmate out in Glendale and Pro Motion was on a second level suite. Anyone ever was broke and bored and hung out, looking at rims you could not afford at DAZZ Motorsports when they were retail? I’d sit for an hour drueling over some GALEs or Emotion rims!
LMAO @ DB2’z old school memories.
I will find the picture of my 85 Rx-7 with home made ceiling signal and side marker light covers.
WOW! I can sure relate to most of that. I remember FREESTYLE music was FRESH! Still is for me. And how seeing my cuzin scratching records was like awesome. Funny thing is that his parents still have all his records and DJ equipment in the same spot TODAY. I felt like I went back in time last time I was up there. With the plastic wrap on the furniture and that plastic mat that went from the door to the living room…LOL
My other cuzin had a Celica Trunk version in white always peeling out when he would bounce from my house. His brother and him had fun installing that pop up sun roof with a little tools and black rubber silicone.
When you wanted to leave a scene. You’d just say, I got to do the bounce, peace. Or, I’m about to flex son.
That reggae that stated FLEX time to have sex…LOL
How about, “You down with OPP, yeah you know me.”
GOOSE…Grippin on a feather and pulling it out was fun.
Mongoose with white skyway mag wheels. I rocked that back when. Learning how to parallel park for my mom’z who did not have the patience. Washing my dad’s 87 Maxima with dish washing soap, a brilo pad for the tires, and a rice cooking pressure pot with sink water outside of our basement home.
Going to the bodega on the corner (from so many others on every other corner) to buy my momz some twinky’s that she was craving at the time being pregnant with my sister.
More memories to come…
