i installed a set of one piece lights everything works on it except my higbeam light on my dash is always lit whether i have the highbeams on or not doesnt seem to effect it… also… and this may be bad wiring but my fogs keep blowin fuses… they worked for a while then started poppin right throw the fuses… anyone have these problems or know of a way to fix them? thanks
the hi beam problem, pull your fuse cover, and see if your car has daytime running lights (DRL). if it does, just pull the fuse for it, and the hi beam light will go off on your dash. as for the fog lights, pull the bulbs out and see how many watts they are. they should be 55w. you may have 100w bulbs in there, and it is overloading the system.
Also, check your grounds and connections. I had the SAME EXACT problem and I never checked the stupid connectors. That was the problem, replaced them and voila, problem solved.
i checked today i dont have the fuse but the hbl is still on and im running 55watt bulbs but yet its still short circuiting grounds seem to be fine there was a small split in the wire i taped it up and they worked for a while then quit workin again and popped another fuse… would it be bad practice to put a larger fuse in ? a 15?
dont do it. you will overheat the system. fuses are there for your safety. putting a bigger fuse in doesnt fix the problem. the fuse pops for a reason. you are overloading the system. i guess you’re just gonna have to deal with popping fuses until you find the problem.
also… im using 9007 bulbs. should i have modified anything to get them to work? i assumed that they would plug right in because im using the wiring harness that came with the lenses, and the lenses say 9007 on them.
The 9007s are your problem. You need to switch two wires either before the ebay harness or in the middle of the ebay harness which is what I did. If you use 9004 bulbs you won’t have any issues at all or you can swap the two wires and run 9007s which are brighter. Here’s the thread that explains how to run 9007 bulbs.
i did the conversion but the highbeam light is still on and there isnt a huge difference from low and highbeam light and one of the lights doesnt work but for a tiny bit… and im still blowin fog fuses tho the wattage is 55watt… heres some pics
EDIT: nevermind i found the problem with the head lights and the highbeam signal… i have to get some more fuses since i went thru all the tens and hopefully thats got the problem fixed completely
do you have a voltmeter? sounds like you’ve got a short. this just start happening after you installed the 1 piecers?

Ok, so how did you fix the problem?
well when i looked at the diagram as to what wires to change it said to swap the left and middle and i did so but on my one piece harness not on my stock harness… after that didnt work i got to looking at the diagram and lookin at my work… realized that since i did it on the different harness the wires were backwards and then i needed to swap the right and middle and that worked i found that my pass side fog has some short somewhere on the one piece harness by unpluggin both fogs and puttin a fresh fuse in and pluggin pass side first blew the fuse then tried again oposite pluggin driver side in first and not blowin the fuse… some time this week when the rain hopefully goes away ill try to find when the sort is in the pass fog light
So if I wanted to install a plug-n-play 10,000k h.i.d kit on one piece headlights…how would I go about tht?
Thanks for the reply.
can anyone answer my question!?!?!?!
im guessing with the plug n play kit it will bolt straight up. my problem was i was using the wrong headlight bulb for the harness.
^ Oh I see! I didn’t know tht the one piece lights brought a different harness. Does the harness come with the headlight when u bye them. Sorry for the noob questions… I always wanted a g2 but. I never came around to getting one, until now. My previous car all basically trial and error (with a bit of creativity).
the headlights come with a harness that fits the stock 9004 bulb. but you can buy the 9007 bulbs (which are brighter) and switch the wires around like in the link posted.
^hmm…so I wouldn’t have to switch to a 9007 bulb if I’m going to use h.i.d’s (which are brighter anyway). I saw them for sale on jdmcarboy.com but apparently ALOT of people have had problems with them. So where else could I find them?
